17-04-2025Varan annonseras som LGA1700 kompatibel och enligt Noctua ska alla NH-D15 tillverkade efter september 2021 innehålla monteringssats för LGA1700 processorer. Den jag fick levererad var den gamla sorten och var därför tvungen att ordna monteringssats i efterhand. Jag valde Amazon därför att andra nätbutiker inte hade den nya sorten. Visade sig att de bara inte var missvisande.

> 3 dayYou need a case that has a 140mm rear fan, to be able to use the second fan and most kinds of memory, else you wont be able to close the side panel.

> 3 dayI was kind of worried it wouldnt fit - I have a micro-ATX board in a small-ish case (Fractal Design ARC mini.) The fins also have a kind of notch that allows clearance for RAM installed close to the CPU socket on either side. My DIMMs are fairly low profile, but even sticks with much larger heatsinks should fit. I did have to orient it so that the fans are pointed toward the top of the case so that it wouldnt block the video card in the top PCIE slot. This meant I had to move the lower fan to the inside of the assembly, in a pull orientation - the lower fins are just above the top of the video card. Moving the fans around is easy - they just snap onto the fins with retention bracket. It hasnt seemed to affect temperatures either - low-mid 30s, even under load (i5 6600k @ 4.4.) Fans are almost silent as well. Includes adapters for AMD and LGA 2011, which I cant comment on since I didnt need them.

> 3 dayThe totally inadequet RAM clearances should be clearly specified before ordering. The marketing materials for this product are misleading saying there are 66 mm of RAM clearance. I am not happy about buying an additional fan at $32 before tax and shipping. I think I should get a rebate for the $32 extra.

15-04-2025I have a mid-tower that I thought was big enough and it was but just. Had to remove the case top to access the fan snaps. The fan snaps are really a pain. So far I havent installed the 2nd fan, but the proper cable was included. My CPU is an i5-12600k and benchmark stress are always under 65C. Cant even hear it.
