Recommend doing the install out of the case if youre building a new PC. Check noctuas page for motherboards that work with this cooler. Some of the heatsinks on Asus and other makers are too big and will not mechanically work with this air cooler. This cpu fan is new and out of the box works with lga 1700 ie alder lake without a special adapter which is really convenient. Some people with other fans have been surprised and had to wait for a free adapter kit or pay for one from noctua. Pcpartpicker is not yet up to date with compatibility issues so keep that in mind.

Efficace pour un I7 12700K (~70° pleine puissance).

I have an i7-12700KF with BIOS AI Auto overclock turned on. Under heavy load with games like Battlefield 2042 + Browser on with video playing its at max 66 temp. Ive never seen it go higher.

Larticle est arrivé endommagé, sûrement déjà ouvert et mal remballé... très déçu car je dois nettoyer la surface en contact avec le processeur.

This is my second Noctua CPU cooler. Then first one being a low profile model for a smaller (thinner) case. It is easy to install. Just make sure to check MOBO and CPU compatibility on Noctua’s web site, as well as specs height (so it fits in your case). Then just follow the instructions that come with it for your type of CPU socket (Intel or AMD) and you should be fine. With this model you can install 1 or both fans (depending on your needs). Noctua support via contact means provided in their website is great. Hapoy with Noctua.

Hands down the best CPU air cooler design and performance wise. The NH-D15 is a tiny bit better at cooling, but is massive which would work in my setup. After dealing with mounting pressure issues with my 12700K and Asus Z690-A with 2 reputable 240mm liquid coolers, I decided to try this out. Cant ask for a better performance per square inch. This thing keeps my 12700K @5.0 GHz P-cores and 4.0GHz E-cores nice and cool averaging 65C during gaming. Definitely worth the extra cost.

Looks nice and attaching the heatsink to the motherboard is easy. However, the fans will not stay firmly attached to the heatsink with the flimsy steel clips provided. Maybe if the motherboard is lying flat and the heatsink is pointed straight up instead of out to the side (which most builds would have it) then maybe it would work, but even then, I would be worried the clips would come loose and the fans fall away from the heatsink. Would be better if there was the option to bolt the fans to the heatsink. Pretty much a loss at this point.

The U12A is a great air cooler albeit the most expensive one. I use it in a small mATX case (inwin 301) where airflow is poor. Does a great job cooling an r5 3600 idling in high 30s to low 40s. In cinebench r23 max temp 74 degrees and while gaming up to 78 degrees max spike. I know the 3600 is not hard to cool. The U12A gives slightly better cooling performance than the wraith prism. About 4-6 degrees delta but its much better at being silent. At 100% max fan spin, while audible it is not very loud. Ive also used this cooler with a 5900x in the same case and that CPU is a hot one! It can cool the 5900x in cinebench r23 at high 70s to mid 80s and idle at around 45-50 degrees. While gaming I saw the 5900x temps spike really high. CPU package up to 89 degrees and CCD1 go up to 93. That being said the U12A chromax black is still a great cooler that I can easily recommend. If your case is limited to 158mm cooler height and youre thinking about purchasing this... do it, you wont regret it.

Keeps my CPU cool, especially after upgrading my case and case-fans.

Amazing cooling. Even on Intels hottest processor the12900KS it does a good job under full CPU load. Noise level is silent except when CPU cores are all going under heavy load. Then you can hear it faintly. I have never had one lock up on the system while running this heat sync.
