NOW Supplements, L-Lysine (L-Lysine Hydrochloride) 500 mg, Amino Acid, 250 Tablets

Bought to treat shingles. Results in 2 days. Also works for mouth sores (canker sores). Recommend this and tea tree oil/and neem oil topically to clear shingles.

Well I take Lysin supplements regularly and i was shopping around for cheaper alternatives when I ran across Now Food Supplements. They have some of the least expensive supplements on the market. This is more cost effective than purchasing Lysin from GNC. P.S. - i notice that a lot of people take these for a variety of reasons but be carful not to overdose on Lysin. You can generate some really bad side effects taking more than 2500mg a day. Granted this is size dependent (body mass). Some may be able to get away with 3200mg a day. I try to keep my intake between 1500 and 2000mg a day and I workout and weight train a lot.

i was taking another brand but chose this bc i heard that the one i was using before was made of corn and i do not like taking supplements that have corn. its very inflammatory. the pills were smaller and its easy to swallow. i have cold sores and i take this right after i feel that tingle on my lips. i prob take about 4 a day when it i feel it starting and bc of the lysine - it goes away in a day or two. i couldnt function without it. during the rest of the month i usually take just one a day.

I love the Now brand. I prefer capsules, but these work well.

My last cold sore breakout was 1.5 years ago. After then, I had started taking these supplements for the purpose of preventing future outbreaks. I typically experience a cold sore outbreak roughly once every six months but Ive been mostly clear with the exception of a short and very tame outbreak on my lower lip last week. Needless to say, Im happier now that I have less cold sore episodes. Its entirely possible that my improved condition and the use of this product are unrelated, but I choose to believe otherwise. I recommend taking this supplement daily if you experience cold sores.

Thought I was getting capsules, which I take and I also give to my cat for a health condition. I can take the tablets myself but prefer capsules. Didnt notice until I opened it. Ill have to order more for my cat.
