Does the work well. It doesnt has that lock for blade, though. Is not an actual problem because the blade is firm, but I just feel more secure with the lock.

This is my favorite all around utility knife for office, craft and light fab work. The locking retraction works consistently well. Blades are insanely sharp of course. The clip is actually useful for shirt pocket or container storage. One of my top-5 small tools.

I ordered it to cut very sturdy lawn edging strips after hearing they were difficult to cut. With this, I scored it once and cut right through with no effort at all. Now, I cut anything needing cutting with it. I just cut through some carpet samples to stick in the pantry. I even used this to cut (with a bit of time wasting effort since it wasnt necessary) a piece off the wood molding on the floor to get a rug to fit in the pantry. Its great to cut things like screening, etc. I love it.

Great product, well made and uses standard blades. Box cutters like these seemed to have disappeared from the big home improvement stores.

These knives are excellent examples of something that is made and works very well. It fits my (and my wifes) hand very well, is easy to grip and holds the blade securely so that it cuts very accurately. Owning one of these spoiled me and I havent used the cheap $2 hardware store version since.

If only theres a left handed version, Id buy a few more! Despite the fact that it is a right handed knife, it is so nice to hold and use, I dont mind having to first extend the blade, then flip the knife around to cut. It comes with the ABB blade (black in color) thats 25% sharper than the regular AB blade, according to Olfa. In a quick test cutting paper, it does seem to cut better than the ABS blade in a SVR-2, but it could be due to the fact that this knife is much easier to hold. It may not have the sexy look, all metal construction and ambidextrous design of the SVR-2, but it is a wonderful knife and a pleasure to use. I just wish I had bought this years ago, instead of using the horrible imitations from hardware stores.

My stand by Olfa having finally disintegrated after years of hard use left me shopping for a replacement. This is simply an excellent day-to-day utility knife. Ergonomic, easy to grip and use even when wearing heavier gloves, and the improved blade advancement and lock is just another step forward for Olfa. I recommend this knife for light to medium utility work and strongly suggest pairing it with the UltraSharp black blades.

I’ve had this knife forever! It’s indestructible and easy and quick to use! I just bought one for my daughters apartment… because we all need this knife for opening all of our Amazon packages!!

I bought a couple of these and they just arrived. They are by far the best quality utility knives I have come across. In the past Ive had cheap little plastic ones, but these, for a little extra money, are far superior in quality. The grip is nice and the action of moving the blade is very precise. The blade moves nicely and locks firmly in place and then retracts just as smoothly. Its a tiny little thing that gets used only on occasion (mostly to open boxes from Amazon), but its so rare to be pleasantly surprised by the quality of an inexpensive product that I just had to give it a review. 5 stars all the way. A little more expensive than the cheapies, but in this case you get more than what you pay for. Im ordering more to give to friends - who think Im nuts to be excited about a $6 utility knife.
