By default comes with 7 buttons, but its really nice feel mouse, and now matches my Omen keyboard, personally I like it a lot, responsive, good battery life, I just dislike the Omen app, but thats another subject, but the mouse itself, is really good!

So my ONLY complaint about this otherwise awesome mouse pad is the description. In the description (at least at the time I write this review), one of the bullet points is Qi wireless charging - Charge your wireless gaming mouse and Qi-enabled devices such as smartphones while you play The key words I read there, and lets see if others think the same, was the While you play. So here I am thinking, Oh wow, so this pad can keep my wireless mouse charged while I play! Awesome! So I ordered this as a bundle with the HP Omen mouse, which has yet to be shipped (thanks, COVID), excited that I can finally ditch the cord and game for long bits of time without having to worry about the mouse dying in the middle of a tense gaming moment. Unfortunately, when I unboxed the pad, I found that this mouse pad only has a small charging spot for devices, with room enough for one device to sit on. It does work. My phone is charging on it as we speak. But my hopes of having an actual pad surface that keeps a mouse charged DURING gaming again went up in smoke. So I am now back to knowing there are no pads like that out there. Still, thinking this was the first pad that could do that, I bought it, and I am still somewhat okay with the purchase. While my main purpose was the expectations I ranted about above, the pad itself IS a very nice pad to have. Its HUGE, so do NOT expect this to be a portable hard surface you can pack with your laptop and take with you. You will NOT be doing that. But for at home on a desk or table, this pad provides a large, nice surface to play on. It also lights up nicely and with the HP Omen software can be customized on the lighting. I do have to point out that if you do not have the matching wireless mouse to go with this pad, and end up using a corded mouse, the cord WILL catch on a device you might have charging while you are moving the mouse around. So the wireless charge spot is only useful if you use this with a wireless mouse. I will not be wireless until Amazon ships the mouse I ordered with this. Would I recommend this pad? YES! I actually would. I just wanted to write this review to let readers know in detail NOT to expect a surface that charges your wireless mouse while you play, as the description leads you to believe. Cheers.

Battery life was pretty much none existent as soon as removed from cord it would only last 20 minutes

Bought the HP Omen set back in June 2020. Its now mid-April 2021 and the mouse is giving me headaches. Unless its connected by wire, it skips, lags, slows down randomly and altogether fails at some points. Its a shame given how customisable and comfortable the mouse is. I will be switching from this $100+ mouse to something around the $20 range. Time and time again quality products fail on me, while their inexpensive counterparts continue to blow my mind away

There is plenty to like about this mouse. Obviously, it is wireless, which is fantastic. I sometimes get a bit OCD about the cable from my wired mouse either dragging on my gaming pad, or getting hung up on the back of my desk. Wireless simply equals freedom. The other thing to like is the lag free performance. If there is any lag, it is imperceptible by me. I play primarily shooters, and the Omen was just as responsive as my wireless mouse. I also like how modular the mouse is - buttons can be removed or added to allow a high level of customization. The mouse also looks great. As a potential downside, since the mouse is wireless you will either have to charge it, or spring for a charging pad. Its not a deal breaker for me, because I also use a wireless gaming headset that I simply charge overnight between gaming sessions. Charging between sessions isnt really a big deal if you dont want to pay for a charging pad. Im really on the fence about whether I like the Omens construction material. Its plastic obviously, but I find it kind of sticky on my hand. Compared to my G502, it feels almost tacky, whereas the G502 feels smooth like silk. I also prefer the ergonomics of the G502. I love the G502 because it fits my palm perfectly and with its thumb rest, almost feels custom made for my hand. The Omen thankfully has thumb rests, but it isnt shaped quite as comfortably as the G502. This is entirely subjective of course because it depends on the size of your hand (I have probably medium sized hands for a male.) With the Omens modular design, however, you probably have a better chance of a perfect fit since you can go with a thumb rest, or without if you prefer a claw grip. The Omen offers a wireless mouse made for gaming with plenty of customization options. I think its biggest draw back is the price. $130 is a bit steep. It really comes down to whether you are willing to pay a premium to go wireless. If the answer is yes, the Omen is a great choice.

seemed great a t first but it has random periods where it has major lag. Seconds of lag. Its really ridiculous. It seems to occur less often if the mouse is plugged in to USB but it does still occur. I have tried this on multiple computers running win 10 and win 11 and it acts exactly the same on all of them. It doesnt matter fi the usb plug-inis inches or feet away from the mouse. Worthless.

Looks great matched with my Omen desktop. Having the mouse charge just by leaving it on the top of the pad is super easy. While hardcore gamers say a mouse has to be wired, I sure cant tell the difference and dont want to deal with the cord. I like the extra buttons I can program for games and the ability to change the mouse speed on the fly is nice. I work from home as well as game so this mouse gets a LOT of use and after several months of use I have no complaints.

First, I like to say the mousepad is MUCH bigger than I expected, I was surprised at the size of the mousepad. I am not a PC gamer and bought the mousepad purely for aesthetics, to go with my older OMEN laptop so the size is probably very useful for gamers but it is ALMOST the size of four regular square mousepads. It takes up a lot of space on my writers desk with my laptop. I thought, not a big deal still excited to use it. Then, I realized it has a USB-C cord attached and my computer does not have a USB-C port. Then I said, no worries it came with an adapter. I watched a review to figure out how to change the colors of the OMEN logo (HP is really bad about including full and DETAILED instructions) the video, although nice, was not helpful. The only thing I realized from the video is that the there should be lighting around the edge of the mousepad and mine wasnt on. I found another video that instructed me I needed to download the OMEN Command Center to control the lighting and it was available in the Microsoft Store. After downloading the Command center the Zone 2 lighting was still not working. After researching it was explained that unless you have a USB-C port on your computer it will not work. That was very disappointing to find out. I do a lot of upgrading on my computer and my OMEN works like a pro and I wont buy a whole new computer just to have an USB-C port. And the adapter is a nice touch but if plugging in the adapter doesnt give the mousepad full functionality then whats the use? So, wanted to update that tonight I decided to randomly try something. Because the mouse pad requires USB-C for power I thought, what if I tried my USB-C power adapter for my Samsung phone (came with my Samsung Note 20 Ultra at 25W)? And it worked. Because its not connected directly to the computer the USB port located on the outpost mouse pad wont work for USB dongles, I mean it will of course power them but since the outpost isnt connected directly to the computer, the USB port would not be either. I dont need that functionality since I am using a docking station anyway. So, if you want the edge lighting to work just use a USB-C adapter, sometimes called power adapter type-c. I dont know the outpost power requirements (I tried to find them for you but couldnt get more than the QI charging - charges at 5W) so, try at your own risk, but again, Im getting beautiful edge lighting and that makes me happy! :)

Ive been a fan of the omen line-up for a while now. The design language is very hit or miss but boy is it a hit for me. Ive been a fan of their futuristic spaceship look with the sharp angles and black brushed accent pieces every since my omen x17 laptop. I had the reactor wired mouse and while it was very well built, the metal cord was a bit of a drag for me... Literally, it felt like an awesome mouse but having to pull on a metal cable just wasnt sure doing it for me. The photon wireless mouse takes care of several issues. The build quality is superb, its rock solid and has very crisp and bright led zones (on the omen logo and scroll wheel). The mouse also comes with magnetic sides and buttons to accommodate several shapes and button layout. The mouse shape it similar to the reactor minus the adjustable hump, which is a shame because I loved that feature. With that being said, the mouse is still very comfortable. It feels Very nice in the hand and the ambidextrous shape makes it easy for lefties and righties, just swap buttons to your liking and youre good to go. The mouse pairs effortlessly and luckily comes with a small usb dongle like the logitech ones instead of some absurd gigantic dock/receiver combo. I have a few other logitech wireless mice and this is right up there with them when it comes to performance. If you have a wireless charging pads, you could also leverage the qi charging so that you technically never have to plug it in. There are a few things which I personally would have liked to see on this. The mouse is heavier than Id like. I tend to favor lighter mice when gaming (83g g305) So I would have liked it to be a rad lighter, it clocked in at 121 grams on my scale. Its not a deal breaker as I use a g903 and mx master 2s which both weight the same or a bit more. I would have also loved to keep the adjustable hump, that was a really nice feature. Overall the mouse is built well with solid components and features. Definitely another solid competitor in the wireless mice market. Thoroughly impressed, but not surprised, by omen.
