> 3 dayWow, so Ive been dabbling with 12% carbamide peroxide gel (aka hydrogen peroxide urea or CH6N2O3) for quite some time, purchased from a different company called SmileSciences. Their product worked ... albeit slowly, giving moderate results that were noticed over 2 to 3 weeks. Additionally the SmileSciences gel was used during the night (so, 6 - 7 hours) over that 2 to 3 week span. The Opalescence PF 35% Teeth Whitening carbamide peroxide solution, however, had noticeable effect on my teeth after a _single_ 30 minute treatment (using an

> 3 dayThese are quite expensive but actually get the job done. All it takes is 15-20 minutes for super white teeth. I usually get the 10% bleaching product from my dentist & use them overnight. These definitely do the job much better.

> 3 dayThis product works great. The 35% solution is much stronger than the other versions, and hence, you dont need to leave it applied for so long. The unofficial directions I received with my order said you can leave on the 35% Opalescence for up to two hours. However, the PDF instruction sheet that you can download directly from the Opalescence website, says specifically to not leave the 35% applied for more than a half an hour. I would recommend that new users keep the solution on for less time in the beginning, gradually building up tolerance. The PF version also contains fluoride to help control sensitivity. When first using the 35%, I left it on for about two hours, and I did experience some sensitivity. The sensitivity went away in a day or two, no problem. After using it a few more times, I am now able to leave it on for about two hours with no sensitivity whatsoever. I cannot imagine trying to sleep with trays in, because you definitely dont want to swallow any of this stuff. Thats one of the main benefits of using the stronger 35% solution: Reduced tray wear time. Since you wont be licking your lips or swallowing for a while, I like to apply a bit of chapstick to my lips, and have a good drink of water before getting started. The PDF instruction sheet from the Opalescence website also states that you should use approximately one third to one half (total) of a syringe worth of solution to fill both trays. Good to know. To target specific stains, I add a little extra to that spot on the tray, and I apply a bit of solution directly to my teeth. The syringe makes it easy to put the product right where you want it. Dont bother putting solution on the back of the trays, because no one is going to look at the back of your teeth. The date codes were explained to me this way: The numbers indicate a month and year of expiration. For instance, V023 indicates that the product expires in February of 2013. The seller I bought from was Jawtooth. As far as trays go, a standard custom mouth guard worked well, though obviously custom fitted trays from your dentist will work better. The mouth guards can be had for about a buck a piece in retail stores, but if you buy them on Amazon, you get three for under two bucks. Nice to have an extra in case of a misfitting. The results this product produces are fantastic. I had a dentist ask me if my teeth were caps. (theyre not) No kidding. I will use this product for as long as Amazon sells it. There is no reason whatsoever to waste your time and money on store bought white strips, solutions, toothpaste, or mouthwash. This product really does whiten your teeth much better. Hope my experience makes using the product a bit easier and less intimidating for you. Ill update if I think of anything else helpful or relevant.

> 3 dayI ordered this product along with dental cheek things as well as teeth whitening trays. Initially I put the whitener in a teeth whitening tray and put in on my teeth as instructed. BIG MISTAKE. The whitener started bubbling and burning right away. Bad. I removed the whitener within 30 seconds. And had white burns on my gums. They went away thankfully. The next time I used the cheek thing to hold my cheeks and lips away from my teeth like my photo and painted it carefully onto each tooth with a small makeup brush. I leave it on for 30 minutes and sometimes use a blue led light to help speed up the process. It works really well, and I’ve had people asking where I’m getting my teeth whitened. The process is tedious- but for the amount of money you save for professional level whitening I’d say it’s worth it. Just be careful. DO NOT GET IT ON YOUR GUMS! I purchased AZDENT cheek retainers and use the ARC LED light that came when their whitening strips I used to use.

> 3 dayI have used several whitening products over the years, and this is the best one I have found! I love the fact that you dont have to leave it in very long (or overnight) AND it doesnt cause the gum sensitivity that Ive experienced with other products. I typically use it once every 3 - 4 weeks (unless I want a quick refresh for a special event). Im drink 1 - 2 cups of coffee daily, and I also enjoy red wine, and this product keeps my teeth looking great. The consistency is thick, which means it stays in my whitening trays and doesnt ooze out around the edges. (I rated easy to use as a 4 because you need to take a bit of care putting the product in your trays because it is thicker than many whiteners, but its worth it.) I have custom-fit whitening trays (that I got from my dentist years ago for another whitening product), and they work perfectly with this product. I keep this products around at all times -- Im a big fan!

20-11-2024I first got custom whitening trays about fourteen years ago - right after I had my braces removed. I have used just about every gel from several dentists. All of the gels have been far less than 35% and of course took a lot longer per treatment (usually overnight) and many more treatments than this product at 35%. And the gels cost SEVERAL times more from a dentist. One can achieve the same results as this 35% product, but it will take much longer, and will cost much more. There is a balance between the percentage of carbamide peroxide and gum irritation, however - and it varies from person to person (the irritation, that is). But here is what I have found. If I floss my teeth once a day and brush them two to three times a day and use a fluoride rinse Act at night, I can use the Opalescence 35% for one hour per treatment in custom trays. Even after one hour, I can see clear results. If my teeth are still too dim I can use it every day until I get the results I want. I know (sort of) if I have over done it because my dentist will tell me my teeth are too white and off his colour chart. I never tell him this, but I think his teeth are dim and stained. (Sorry if that is mean.) My tips: Brush your teeth at least twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste. Floss once a day and use Act fluoride rinse at night and use THIS gel. This gel is the best I have tried. It works quickly. Short treatment, few treatments. If you cannot tolerate an hour; use the recommended half hour. I dont have sensitivity, but if you do, switch to Sensodine sensitive teeth toothpaste and use the Opalescence less frequently, for a shorter time or both. Also, stop doing those shots of straight Bourbon, because that compounds the irritation to your gums. I vacillate about how often to touch up my teeth - so I asked another Amazon reviewer. Anyway, that is what works for me and I hope this helps you. A bright smile makes an awesome first impression. And second, third... Cheers, Dan

> 3 dayI thought I would try this product to see if it has an advantage over the one Ive been using for several years (also from Amazon). I didnt like this one (used it twice) because it is really dense and sticky and very hard to clean off my dental trays after use. (It is not recommended to use very warm or hot water on soft dental trays.) And also difficult to get all the gel out of my mouth. The previous brands product did not cause those difficulties so Im going back to that one. Also, this didnt seem to whiten as much as the previous brand. I doubt Ill even use the remaining syringes in this pack.
