Replaced a 6 year old projector which the replacement light did not fit. This model is much improved and brighter during the day.

The bulb went out about 1 year after purchase, which I was able to replace, also dead white and black pixels started showing. 2 years after purchase it officially broke.

I recently purchased a projector from optoma. I head a pop and saw a flame. I asked for a return and they refused. If you accidentally leave it on at night it could cause a fire. This product is not safe and should not be purchased or sold.

Had a vivitek projector that finally died and I tried to replace it with a cheaper led one. First, don’t buy or of those they are junk. This is an awesome projector for money. It’s very bright, crystal clear, the 3D is awesome. Couldn’t be happier!

This is my third Optoma. I upgraded from a gt720. I just hooked it up and finished watching a movie. I seriously cannot imagine a better picture quality. I’m not sure what the $3k or more units can offer. All I can say is I love this unit, and I haven’t even calibrated it or tuned it or anything. I highly recommend

This my first projector. It came with image problem which gave me concerns about the reliability. As soon as I opened the test image I noticed a grayish colorful bar at the bottom of the image. I also noticed a very small gray bar at the top right corner (this one is very small). I returned it and spend $100 more to buy a similar specs projector from a different brand ( Lets call it brand X, I wont say which one in case people think this is an Ad ). Pros: 1. very low fan noise, I did not notice this pro until I bought the one from brand A which is much more noticeable compare to this one. I did not even notice this could be a problem. 2. 120 Hz tested, very impressive for the price. 3. picture is good enough for the price Cons: 1. this annoyed me most, the remote is the worst I ever used. The buttons sometimes stuck in after I pressed and I need to get the buttons out almost every time I forgot to press it carefully. Moreover, I am not sure is it just my unit, the remote signal is very weak, I have to point directly at the projector to get any response ( BTW, yes, I did tear off the transparent sticker). 2. extremely hot during operation ( even for projectors ), much hotter than the one from brand A, I believe that is trick to make it quieter. Over all, I am glad that I did spend another $100 to buy a different one. The picture quality from brand A is a little bit better but definitely noticeable and it came with a real remote controller and a wider rage of positioning. The only downside I have now is that I need to use my noise canceling headphone if I want to get the full power when using it during very quite night time.

Not going into length on this. But after 2 years, white dots are beginning to take over the screen. This is a failing DMD chip. Contacted technical support who informed me the chip was $400. Then theres a $110 cost, right out of the gate. Plus shipping and Im sure other fees. To fix a chip will cost the same as a new projector. Not to mention the part is not in stock. I informed them that this will prevent me from ever purchasing another Optoma product. And that Id share my experience. Didnt seem to matter. I would encourage you to steer clear.

The picture quality is great. Was on the fence about maybe getting a 4k projector, but realized how unnecessary it was for me. 1080p is perfect. The brightness is great. Sometimes I darken the room, but it isnt necessary most of the time. The input lag is so low, I dont notice it. Even when Im playing a FPS like Halo Infinite. It creates a good amount of heat (like any projector) and the built in speakers are awful. But who cares about that? I bought a cheap sound bar and Im very happy with the whole set up.

2 years in and pixels are failing. I’m up to 3 dead pixels and it is pretty distracting. I would say, this is slightly less than my expectations. You should easily get 3 hours from your projector without this sort of failure.
