> 3 dayI took a gamble, after reading about the white lines in some of the other reviews, and purchased this scanner anyway. I was hoping that it was just a few defective units, and mine would not have that problem. Well, just like the others, my photos all scan in with fine white lines across them. Ive tried cleaning and calibrating it multiple times, following the instructions and it hasnt helped. To me, these lines are completely unacceptable. Im going to try and return it to the manufacturer, hoping that they have come up with a fix for it since it was first produced. If they come through and get me a working unit, I will come back and write a new review. But for now, two stars is an extremely generous rating, based solely on how much I love the concept behind this product, as the final product you end up with is not good.

> 3 dayThis is a pretty neat little gadget. Pretty much just follow the directions, then plug the power in. To scan, you just put the photo in, it takes it away. Converts it right to Jpg on the memory card. And, if you dont have a memory card reader you can plug it into the computer and download it directly. Only downside is a technical limitation - you cant scan and pull pictures off the card at the same time (probably a memory card limitation). Otherwise its a pretty neat gadget.

> 3 dayI owned a flatbed scanner that had a photo feeder attachment and it did the same thing. When I talked to HP they sent me two whole new feeders over a 6 month period of time. They said that the problem was that ANY spec of dust that gets on the photo or in the feeder will leave a scratch mark all the way down the length of the photo. They did not have a fix for this. Since I dont work in a 100,000 clean room, this technology is not for me. I gave this one a shot and it did the exact same thing. I cant believe that they put a product like this on the market knowing all to well that it is a flawed bit of technology. It is criminal in my opinion.

> 3 dayI use this scanner for a project in my class. I have owned a Pandigital scanner for 3 years.I purchased another to keep in school. I have not had any problems. A few reviews mentioned white lines, I have not had that problem. This scanner is great. It will scan 4x6 papers too. I only wish it would accept polaroids!

> 3 dayHeres the bottom line......Its $40 and it works. Dont expect a lot and you will be fine. Lines, yes on some pictures. From what I understand its from dust. Make sure your pics are clean and that should clean up the lines. Its not a big deal to me. It works with a Mac. I love that. Fast.....It takes seconds for each picture and you can feed one after another, Its crazy fast and easy. I have hundreds if not thousands of pics that need to be scanned in and this small unit has made life easier. I upload my pics to mobile me so we can watch on Apple TV and we are just elated with the final result albeit with a few lines here and there. You want perfect scans pay more than $40 for a scanner. Good luck!

> 3 dayI just opened this baby up and started scanning and love the way it functions. It scans fast and easy and seems to autocrop when necessary. The major downside is there are fine lines through almost half of my pictures I scanned. Some are noticiable and all seem to be in the same area. Tried rescanning those pics and it sometimes improves and goes from 2 lines to 1 but its always there. I am calling MFG to see if there is a fix besides the recalibration.

> 3 dayI bought this to scan photos - of course. After approximately 30 photos, the scanner needs to be recalibrated. You are also supposed to be able to view the pics as scan them, but I cant. The File Explorer window CLOSES every time you scan. You have to go back in each time. I was waiting until after I scanned a batch at a time. After about 30 photos, you have to unplug, clean the machine, then calibrate it. Its a shame. I was looking forward to using this. Dont waste your money. Just use a regular document scanner instead.
