> 3 dayThis is great for camping - small and lightweight - you can store your headlamp in it when youre not wearing it. So wear the headlamp around in the dark, then climb into your tent, take it off and fold up the elastic headband and put the headlamp in this case, face up - and it transforms into a lantern! When you zip up the case, if youve put the headlamp into it properly, you can even turn it off and on through the plastic dome. Clever!

Greater than one weekLove that it can be turned on and off without the need to unzip. Ensure you have the correct model that lines up with the switch pad.

> 3 dayCaveat Emptor.... This is going to be a great solution for 98% of backpackers out there, however, its not something that fits into my system of ultra light backpacking and may not for you as well... For what this is its just too heavy (almost 5oz or 136 grams on my scale- quite a bit more than advertised on Amazon). For another 3.0 ounces I can carry a pop-up lantern that is much brighter than this thing and I can still use my headlamp to do other chores/activities around camp. Its just not worth the weight for me and if I want to carry the extra weight I will go with the superior piece of gear. Some positive are the way this thing difuses light and maybe tha tit works as a protective case for your headlamp in your pack. However, if youre worried about accidentally turning the lamp on while in your pack there are far lighter (and cheap solutions) to that problem. I would classify this as a luxury item and not something I would be carrying on a hunting, thru-hike, or when I am looking to bang out a ton of miles. Ill take the extra ounces in tape or snacks before I would carry this around. I am not going to return as I may have some uses or as a piece of ancillary gear but I am am disappointed in just how heavy it is. Good idea but I think its just a bit too heavy for ultra light backbackers.

> 3 dayThis is very handy for making more diffuse lighting to fill a tent or cover a picnic table or area at a campsite. It is a bit bulky if you are trying to minimize volume in your pack, but when you store your headlamp plus some spare batteries in there, then it isnt so much extra space. (Even without spares it might be good to take your batteries out since Petzls dont have a power switch lock and might get turned on by accident.) And I like the flexible dome that lets you squeeze it to change the light settings or turn on/off without having to open the case. I use this with a Zipka headlamp, which doesnt have the thick strap, so it sits lower in this case. But it still works to create a nice broad diffuse and even lighting for an area.

> 3 dayLove it. It makes my Petzel headlamp into a teeny tiny lantern. It has an elastic strap that you can put around a tent pole or whatever.

> 3 dayI wanted a case to protect my Petzl Tactikka + RGB and ran across this one. I dont know why anyone would settle for anything else! This case is as small as you can get, protects my headlamp while in my pack and doubles as a lantern too. (By the way, yes you can also store 3 extra AAA batteries in the bottom of the case.) Im very pleasantly surprised to have found it. Perfection!
