Setting them up was super simple and the app has a lot of features for presents and timers and things. Really glad I got them

These are great - amazing in a group of three using Hue Disco app. Just expensive. Work well and setup eazy.

Paired a couple of these together in a group using Echo Plus, and alexa does everything i need her to do without the Hue hub

These bulbs are seriously cool. The only problem is the cost to effectively run and own them. Youre looking at investing in a Bridge, and the actual costs of the bulbs themselves. If youre looking for ambient lighting, and not necessarily creating scenes, there are cheaper alternatives that do not require a hub or an Echo Plus. I ended up returning my product and purchasing more MagicHue bulbs. I manage scenes through my LIFX and Nanoleaf products, and only use bulbs for ambient lighting.

I bought the Philips Hue Starter kit just as a toy to play around with. Wow! I love those lights. Then, I figured, what the heck, Ill try the color light. Programmable, dimmable, color LED lights... how freaking cool is that!!?? Maybe not quite flying cars, programmable love robots, and the Pur & Kleen Water Company yet, but darned close. I put two in my living room and programmed a couple of different color scenes with the Philips Hue app. The color variations are awesome and really change the feel of a room whether you are having a conversation, reading, watching TV, or whatever. And, the app has the ability to upload a photo and build a color scheme from a photo. These bulbs are pricey, for sure. But, they create a great ambiance and you can change them depending on your mood or situation.

I have a gajillion of these things around the house. The only con, is they arent as bright as I would like... but the range of colors is phenomenal.

I purchased this slight bulb for a variety of uses in my home. I have 8. Two of them have now died. I contacted support for the replacement but was refused. They say the bulb was miss used because it was used in a recessed light fixture in my kitchen. I asked how I would know that and they wrote back that it is on the box. Who keeps the box? I looked it up online and sure enough, it reads Not for use in totally enclosed or recessed fixtures. This is a $40 bulb that I cant use in a standard light fixture? Be wary, this light bulb has only limited applications. Will not buy again.

These lights are amazing! Can’t wait to get more!
