I purchased this device to add to all my Philips HUE home lights. This is an must ave addition. It will give all home members an easy to use switch/. We added it to our tining table light and the living room lights. Now if we like to switch on or of the lights we just put the switch on the table and everyone can access the swicth. Installation is easy and adding lights to the 4 switches is easy with the HUE app. I recomand this to all HUE fans.

Not a normal reviewer. But this product is new, I was excited and a major let down. So I thought I would help you save some cash. 1. This module is “Battery Powered”. It does NOT use the power of the existing house wall switch. 2. Battery claims 5 years, so every 5 years you will spend a DAY removing all wall plates/switches and changing batteries. 3. It cost $40. A Phillips Hue wall switch cost $25 (which doubles as a removable magnetic remote) , and does the same thing, and supports dimming, and all Hue features. Far more features your house switch cannot do, even with this $40 module. 4. This Hue switch module will have you bypass your house switch wiring and connect your house wiring together with a provided wire nut, then connect the module to the house wall switch. THAT’S IT! So, save your money and do what I am about to do (after I return these Hue switch modules to Amazon). 1. Remove your house wall switch completely. 2. Connect the house switch wiring together (same as this module requires). 3. Spend $25 + $5 ($30) for a Hue Wall switch and 3D printed switch cover that works with the Hue wall switch. The $25 wall switch also uses a battery that needs replacing every 3 years (I own 4-5 currently). 4. And now, you have a Hue wall switch that looks nice with your “made for Hue 3D printed switch plate cover”. You have the SAME EXACT SOLUTION PHILLIPS IS OFFERING WITH THIS $40 PRODUCT. WOW! Love Hue, I own 20 of the multi-color lights, wall switches, motions sensors, etc. LOVE THEM. But this new “module” is poorly executed. Does NOT use house power (require battery). Required rewiring your house wires to bypass your wall switch. $40!!!!!! Again, the $25 Hue wall switch does the same thing. You can stick it to the wall next to your house switch, or bypass the house switch, and buy a $5 3D printed wall plate that your $25 Hue switch can use, and it supports all Hue features. This module DOES NOT support all Hue features. Sorry Phillips, but this product was LAZY! Try again. Final comment = Phillips Hue claims to be partnered with Lutron. $40? Why not make a replacement switch that can use the house power (no battery)? That would be worth $40, maybe $50. I spent days, weeks, searching for something like this. And this module was the best Phillips could think of????? Phillips, please make your own integrated wall switch, or use your partnership with Lutron to make it for you.

It’s nice to have a physical switch even with the google assistant and the hue app I still like to just push a button if I want to. Looks good on the wall adhesive backing works good. You may need to update your hue app . Dims brightens on and off ,perfect . Battery on my older version switch lasted almost 2 years. Not bad.

Bought the kit, this and bulbs, didnt know I need the hub so the switch is useless for now. Should have read better. The idea is great, my room has no light switch so I was going to use this

Every year my husband gripes at me about leaving all the Christmas lights on and my Christmas villages lights...ect. We ordered several of these and linked all the decor plug-ins to them. These sync perfectly with our Philips app, so we were able to set specific times during the week or weekend. Now he is happy and no more having to have that argument each holiday season lol.

Switch works well. You need the latest app to be able to recognize and setup. After that the setup is easy. I bought two. Enjoy having a rotary switch for the dimmer. I replaced the orignal, square ,white version 1.

If you want simple, quick set-up of this remote, disregard the enclosed instruction sheet which tells you that the set-up button is inside the battery cover, along with a QR code for you to scan. All I did was open the Hue app on my iPhone and go to settings. Select Accessories, then the + sign at the top-right, and finally select the Dimmer switch. Then simply follow the steps. I had this up and running in less than 3 minutes. No need to open the battery cover, or press the set-up button on the remote. This device also get registered in your Alexa app. Seems you can add a routine to the device which I havent figured out the purpose... Anyway, this is really a quick, inexpensive method to have a physical device to control your lights.

Firstly, go and do research on the difference between wifi, Bluetooth and zigbee. You will find that zigbee was made for light, low energy, long range, low data, natural mesh network. Ie the more you have the better the results, the opposite of wifi and Bluetooth. So, on paper, it’s the ideal solution. Secondly, I had tried wemo and amazon and cheap Chinese wifi smart plugs, and poured a lot of money into unreliable stuff. Including Amazon’s wifi smart plug, it is super unreliable and slow. Because I was short on time, didn’t do my research, and hue did not have a smart plug. I upgraded my router to the ASUS axe16000 and the smart plugs became super unreliable. I thought I was screwed. I had time, finally, to sit and read. And I understood zigbee, I saw hue already had smart plugs out now, and I already had the new hue bridge. So I bought four of these, because I had spent way more of the other stuff. And, right from go, super easy to install (just take your time, uninstall/rename previous plugs, rename these), and they respond super quick over Alexa, and every single time, all four, every morning and every night for a week. Wow. Not just that, but another hue strip light that used to be a bit unreliable is super stable and responsive now because of zigbee, I have two new plugs near it. They make a nice soft click, it sounds lush. Nice. I’ve had them a week and if things change I’ll update here for sure. Thirdly, if you are sitting there thinking “oh no I don’t want to spend $50 on a hue hub”, well, you’re going to spend a whole lot more on wifi smart plugs that will drive you nuts. Fourthly, I’m no longer paranoid about changing my router because … zigbee controls my lights.

Works well. Sticks to the wall and the remote itself is magnetized, which is a really nice touch. The instructions are a little outdated however, but once I looked them up on hues website setup was very quick.
