Philips Hue White Ambiance A19 2-Pack 60W Equivalent Dimmable LED Smart Bulbs (Hue Hub Required, Works with Alexa, Apple Homekit & more), Old Version, 2 Bulbs (453092)

The Philips line of bulbs is expensive but well worth it. The white ambiance feature is very useful especially when getting ready in the bathroom. My wife can see what her makeup looks like under any type of white light. Also the simulated sunrise is a great way to wake up every morning.

This worked great until Phillips decided to dishonor its promotion with echo which stated you could use their bulb without the bridge/hub and greedily disconnect the amazon alexa app so you cannot connect the skill through the app. They seem to have done this in order to force people to buy their overpriced hubs and bridges. We disconnected and were unable to connect back to it through our echo so now we have an overpriced $2 bulb. Additionally they discontinued the hue bluetooth app on the play store to force people into their new system

These lights are bright enough for your room. This is the second set of Hue lights Ive bought. The first set worked flawlessly with the Amazon Alexa Dot (Gen 3). Unfortunately this set doesnt. The only difference is the White Ambiance does not have bluetooth, so it requires the Hue Bridge. So these bulbs are just normal bulbs until I get the Hue Bridge.

I was really excited to buy these lights but have discovered that the manual switch does not override the bulbs unlike other Philips hue bulbs. If the lights are off on the app (and you turn the lights off then on again) the lights stay off (unlike the colour bulb or even the white bulb) which makes this super annoying to Have in your house without carrying your phone everywhere. Im not sure why this problem is happening... But I hope it can get fixed...

Easy set up and work well.

Bulb lasted less than one year. Very disappointed.

Philips Hue bulbs work really well and integrate with the Apple Home Kit easily. They are much better than some of the competitors. easy to set up and use.

Reliable long lasting bulbs that work well with Amazon Echo.

I originally purchased the classic hue white dimmable bulbs and they were SO warm/ yellow tone, I returned them immediately. These just came and even without adjusting any settings, they are SO much better. I wish they were cheaper, but the classic hue white is terrible, so this was the next step up. If you want to go with smart bulbs, between the hue white and hue ambiance, I definitely recommend these!! Also, one review mentioned not working with Hunter fans and I don’t know what model we have, but it works perfectly fine in ours.

Price could be more reasonable... but the lights operate as advertised.
