Philips Hue White and Color Ambiance LED Smart Light Bulb Starter Kit, 3 A19 Smart Bulbs & 1 Hue Hub (Works with Alexa, Apple HomeKit & Google Assistant)

I have purchased multiple lights. They work great and connect with Alexa just fine. My only complaint is that the dimmest level is about 5%, which is a bit jarring in the morning. I use them as sunrise simulators and wish they would start at a dimmer level.

I disliked the need for a hue bridge but liked the product overall

These things are gorgeous when they decide to work. Pros -Alexa is amazing with them -cheap to run -colors are incredible! Cons -the hub has to have a hard connection, no wifi option that Ive found -synching them to my computer made the lights flicker on and off like crazy and the only way to stop it was to disconnect, unscrew them and hope it worked -the price is super high for a product that has almost no support

Absolutely love the way they look and all the options you have, but they are a pretty pricey.

I assumed this would be a simple, straight out of the box set up. 6 hours later I am returning the product because I just could not get it to work, and I am pretty good with technology and following directions. I downloaded the app. I plugged the hub into the router via the provided cable (should have been my first indicator- that a high end hub could not connect wirelessly). All lights on the hub lit up, I followed the directions, pushed the button (because it should be that simple) and nothing. I spent hours online following the troubleshooting tips and none of them worked. For something that plugged directly into the internet source it should work without a single hiccup. So yes, i’m pretty disappointed because I was looking at setting this hub up to add other Philips lighting devices. I should have went with a different product and would not recommend this product.

The lights are perfect for my bedroom that does not have a light switch. I am able to turn them on and dim them if o am home or away.

Frustrated because I bought this on Prime Day for really cheap. The two options were Color or White, so as a first time purchaser who’s been looking at these for a while I picked white to try out. I also purchased an extra two white bulbs on a different Hue listing. I ended up getting “Warm White” with this Hub + 3 pack, and my 2 pack was “Soft White”. It’s very irritating because it doesn’t specify the type of white anywhere in this listing which white we were getting. Very disappointed but I’m going to test these out anyway. It’s probably easier to purchase these in the store.

Great set up BTW Hue and Bridge are the same thing. Hope this clears up some confusion.

There are a lot of hub-less smart lights out there, but there really isnt any beating the Hue for features and consistent response to the app/commands. They are more expensive, and its hard to justify the initial costs. I recommend starting with a simple white and ambience kit like this, and expanding it over time instead of using a cheaper brand to get more lights to start with.

So easy to use. Voice activation with my Echo Show. Convenient.
