> 3 dayMy favorite purchase of the year. You can download different apps that take the controls to a whole new level. I have had anything from candle light and thunderstorms. If you are looking for the wow factor look no further this is it!

> 3 dayThese things are gorgeous when they decide to work. Pros -Alexa is amazing with them -cheap to run -colors are incredible! Cons -the hub has to have a hard connection, no wifi option that Ive found -synching them to my computer made the lights flicker on and off like crazy and the only way to stop it was to disconnect, unscrew them and hope it worked -the price is super high for a product that has almost no support

Greater than one weekOrdered this starter kit during the Prime Day and the package arrived in perfect condition. Had the hub and the 3 A19 bulbs (warm white). The Philips hue doesnt come with a setup instructions page but a quick and short youtube video was enough. Everything is working perfectly so far. Great deal!

> 3 dayEven on the brightest white setting, four of these bulbs (purchased this pack plus one more) were not nearly bright enough to light up a decent sized living room with 12 foot ceilings

> 3 dayThe V2 hub is working VERY poorly for me. My existing bulbs could only be paired manually after multiple tries. They now regularly show as Unreachable. The new V2 hub is in the same location as my V1 hub was, yet it doesnt work nearly as well. On top of these Im very annoyed that I had to replace perfectly good functioning V1 hardware with a new hub in order to maintain 3rd party integration. It appears Philips realized they could force existing customers to buy more from them - the only logical way to get a new hub is bundled with more bulbs, since the hub alone is almost as costly as a kit. And its certainly predictable that Philips will feel like dropping support for V2 in another year or two to force customers into buying yet another kit. More e-waste, some of which might be recycled, the rest goes in a landfill. My advice, ditch Philips Hue and invest in STANDARD Z-wave/Zigbee / WiFi bulbs and accessories instead.

> 3 dayI have several different hue bulb types and these have way less flicker. Its the only bulb type I could recommend from hue so far. Great color from hue as usual.

> 3 dayPhilips has been nagging me for a while to upgrade the app on my phone, and -- while youre at it -- get our new super duper hub, it is square. Well, with Samsung jacking everyone over on SmartThings, I figured I would go on and upgrade the Hue too. First, install the new hub. It is square. That is a big deal for some reason. The new hub is super-light, small piece of plastic. It will not stay put. The ethernet cable moves it. And, speaking of the ethernet cable, I was hoping I could remove the old hub and set the new hub in the same place. But NO!. Philips decided to 1) change the power connecter, and 2) rotate the ethernet connection, so I had to pull out the furniture, get behind where the old hub was, install the now power adapter, and twist the ethernet cable over. That was a chore. That cable had a little bit of tension in it, and the no-weight plastic hub promptly flipped over, putting the cable back to the position it was in with the old hub. Disconnect it, loosen up the cable, try again. OK, all that is working. Blue lights all on. To my great dismay, after installing the new app and the new hub, NO LIGHTS FOUND. Yep, first I thought I must have done something wrong (possible, even though Ive installed this and similar systems, but you never know). After checking and rechecking, I installed one of the new bulbs that came with the hub. Presto, 1 bulb in my house found and working. What about the rest? More checking. I power on every light in the house. Still no devices found. I try changing ZigBee channels. No go. Checking the Internet, Google the Oracle, and I found the Great Disappointment. The new hub does not talk easily to the old lights. Philips suggests going to each and every single light to find its serial number and typing in each of those serial numbers to help the poor new super-duper square hub find the legacy hue lights. What a waste of time and horrible design. If you are not totally invested in Hue, go to Panasonic. No hub required. Save yourself the headache and the failed designs of Philips. PHILIPS: you really screwed the pooch on this upgrade you forced out on everyone. Your inattention to design details is deplorable. Your near-complete lack of support for legacy bulbs is unacceptable. You could have done so much better.

Greater than one weekBought the three A9 color set with the hub on Amazon Prime day. Package arrived two days later. Setup took all of 5 minutes. 1. Plug in the hub 2. Plug in the light bulbs 3. Download and use the Philips Hue App on your Mobile 4. Setup the lights, make a room and youre done The quality of the lighting is just fantastic. The integrations to Apple Home, etc are easy and works out of the box (which little setup needed) I had a lot of fun messing around with different color combinations and its easy to save a preset (or use the included ones) Set a wake up timer and the lights slowly faded on this morning around 6:30 (excellent way to wake up - Excited to use this in the winter) Going to replace all my bulbs with these down the line. With this quality and level of flexibility its a no brainier. And yes... these are expensive but you are truly getting what you paid for.

> 3 dayPhillips hue is expensive but I find it worth it. If you already have smart speakers that can control these they’re perfect for you. They are bright and always respond to commands. Being able to dim the lights without having a dimmer switch is a nice feature to have at night while watching tv. The other features in the app I don’t really use but all I need is the ability to turn them on, off, and dim.

Greater than one weekAfter my amazon smart-plug repeatedly dropped off the wifi and forgot its own settings multiple times (always a few months apart), I decided to go with this as an alternative for programmable lights. What a huge difference! I had all three lights set up on the app within minutes, which itself is easy to use. The ability to dim the lights at any time (without a physical dimmer switch) is fantastic! There are a lot of other things I can do with the app, apparently, but I havent fully delved into all the fancy stuff yet. Overall, Im very happy!
