> 3 dayI was confused over what the World edition was and saw that it was cheaper. I was afraid it may not work so I intentionally paid more for a regular listing (non World). My 11 year old son spent his own $ on this. When it came he noticed the World edition marking on it. I want to get some $ back for him relative to what the World edition costs. It does work though and hes already put playtime on it so doesnt want to go through the return process. But the listing was deceptive!

> 3 dayPokémon is always a hit and I’ll buy them every time. This is not the best game of the franchise but lots of fun nonetheless!

> 3 dayI want to say that Ive been a long time Pokemon fan. Ive played Pokemon Red and Blue during my childhood and played every gen except 4 and 6. Ive noticed a decline in the series after Gen 5. Cut scenes were long, lack of special events, super friendly rivals, easier games, etc. Despite this I still loved Sun and Moon and they are probably behind Pokemon Black and White 2 as my favorite games. Sun and Moon introduced Poke Ride killing HMs which is something weve wanted for years. Gyms were gone in favor of island trials and while the execution couldve been better it was very refreshing. Ultra Sun and Moon brought hardly anything new. You start in the same town and if fact the game feels nearly the same for 30%. There are small changes like the Gym leaders and the story and also the ultra recon squad but it all felt like DLC. The ultra recon squad didnt feel like they had significant part or influence on the story. Overall the game left a very bad taste in my mouth and I forced myself to finish game, afterwards never picking it up again. If you played sun and moon Id skip this one for sure.

> 3 dayMost of story contents are the same as Sun and Moon, which makes the game playing experience very boring. The post game content is still extremely poor especially compared to Black 2/ White 2 (Mantine surfing and photoclub do not add much to the post game content). And game freak still sells this game as double versions. If they sell it as one version like Platinum or Emerald I will be fine with it. However, selling the game in two versions really means that they are trying to squeeze as much money out of pokemon fans pocket as possible when they are trying to do as little work as possible. I remember in an interview Gamefreak stuff said that this story is extremely different from the story in Sun and Moon. However, how it becomes extremely different when the first 20 hours of gaming experience are exactly what we have experienced in Sun and Moon? They also said the story content would be around double of Pokemon Sun and Moon. Actually other than the post game team rocket content, the remaining more story contents are just more meaningless dialogues and choices, tutorials, and mostly boring side quests (Other than ditto quests and training school quests, they are actually interesting). This game only worth a 10 dollars Necroma and team rockets DLC, not a 40 dollars full game. Selling it as two different versions really reflects Game Freaks mind: No matter how little effort we put in making a game, you loyal pokemon fans will still buy it, so what is the point for us to contribute more efforts to make a game anyway? BTW, many buildings inaccessible in sun and moon are still inaccessible in this so called ultra version, such as the tower in Malie garden, and many empty spaces remain empty ( such as the wasted space in Pony island. I really cannot believe how lazy and perfunctory Game Freak has become.

> 3 dayThis is honestly just kind of lazy in design. With few exceptions, if youve played Pokemon Sun and Moon, youve played this one. Some people have different pokemon and they change a few locations marginally, added a mini-game, but the only real improvement is that there are far more pokemon available to catch. The story is changed very little, but what few changes there are ruins the story. The only worthwhile content comes in the endgame when some old faces from previous games return, and it is over way too fast. Im glad it didnt cost as much as Pokemon Sun and Moon, but honestly this should have been $30 tops at release for how copy and paste the game is. Only hardcore collectors or people that skipped the previous games should buy this, Im regretting my own purchase.

> 3 dayIf you played Pokemon Moon and youre a die hard Pokemon fan youll probably be mildly disappointed while playing this. A decent amount was added but I feel as though not enough to make it worth the price. In my opinion the content in this game should have just been in the first one, Moon, and then thats that. No Ultramoon. Or maybe made the extra content dlc for Moon not a full blown game where 70% is exactly the same.

21-11-2024Sigh. The more and more Im playing it the more Im realizing what a cash grab these releases were. Im sure the post game content will be great but for someone whos still trudging along through the main story it feels like deja vu from Sun and Moon. Speaking of the main story, its soooooo slow. I also keep waiting for something different to happen but honestly there isnt much. Sure, theres tweaks/small improvements here and there along the way but nothing that makes you go WOW! Anyways, for veterans of the series the word disappointing is an understatement. However, for newbies looking to get into the series and not experiencing Alola yet I would definitely recommend it. I just feel like they could have done so much more with this game after Sun and Moon. Oh well...
