> 3 dayDidnt know this was just a re-hash of the most recent games when I got it. The extra content is basically just like a DLC pack. I just bought it without checking anything so thats definitely on me. Still, isnt it a bit soon for a remake? Its still my favorite in the series so far, so I wont mind playing it, but Im not looking forward to it as much as I would if it were a true sequel.

> 3 dayPokémon Ultra Moon very quickly became my favorite installment in the series. I waited a bit to jump on and play this entry but it was well worth it. The savings vs in-store was great too. Player since Generation 1.

> 3 dayI played through the game expecting only a few minor changes from the original Sun/Moon, like the types of Pokemon you can encounter. What I didnt expect was a bunch of changes to the story and post-game story, as well as new minigames. The characterization of your NPC friends is done much better in this game as well, which makes playing through the story more enjoyable than the first. Its definitely worth picking up if you enjoyed the original SuMo.

> 3 dayThis game is really wonderful, especially if you want to be able to go back and catch legendaries from your childhood. If youve ever vacationed in Hawaii or would like to then this will also tickle that fancy Some of the battles can be really challenging if you havent worked out the sub-types but there are plenty of guides to help you skate by without a sweat (if youre into that kinda thing ;) lol )

> 3 dayA good game thats an upgraded version of Moon. However, the story has remained the same and feels like a repeat. Wouldve been great if it was a sequel like Black/White 2. Despite the nitpicks, I found the game enjoyable and would recommend for those who havent played it.

> 3 dayI am kind of perplexed by all the one star reviews complaining its the same game. The Ultra Sun/Moon games are essentially remakes/remasters with all new content and drastic storyline changes to the originals, and have always been marketed as such. Its not intended to be a completely different game as, say, from Red/Blue to Gold/Silver. Its better to think of these as alternative versions to the original games because thats exactly what they are. Expectations should be adjusted accordingly. While many locations and a lot of key plot elements are unchanged early on, the experience is significantly different from the get-go in a variety of ways. A lot of scenes are executed much differently (such as the way in which you get your starter), you are chased by an entirely new villain organization with a brand new plot line attached throughout, virtually all characters from major NPCs to simple villagers have new dialogue and quests, there are new areas to find and explore, there are TONS of new secrets and quests ranging from simple and obvious to more obscure and rewarding, there are a LOT more classic Pokemon throughout the entire game to encounter and catch from every generation, not just the legendaries... the list goes on. The latter half of the game plays out VERY very differently with all new events and locations, and the post-game has a lot more meat to it. Even a lot of the soundtrack and the UI have been overhauled and changed. While I can understand not liking a game personally, calling this exactly the same and thus a rip-off feels like a knee-jerk reaction and frankly, not an entirely honest one that isnt offering any helpful information to someone looking to buy this. Be aware of what youre getting and adjust your expectations accordingly. Playing this in no way feels like a retread of the original games and Im honestly surprised by how many changes there are, some big and some small. The story feels like it flows a lot better now; a lot of the cutscenes have been changes and rewritten in ways that make them feel stronger, while many major characters get a lot more characterisation so it feels more rewarding to people who have played the original and felt some of those beats fell a little flat. If you want a completely brand new game as you would going from one generation to the next, this isnt it. But as someone who has played the games on and off since their very first Red/Blue release but isnt a diehard, I am very happy with my purchase and what they chose to do with it.

> 3 dayEssentially the same game as the previous two, but with slightly altered story and a few more things to do. If you are just getting into gen 7, get one of the ultra versions.

Greater than one weekMy son has gotten pretty far and I have to fight him to put the game down! Loves it so much. He’s played ultra sun and loved it and mentioned this one for Christmas. Got it pretty quick and the price was pretty good.
