I kept getting calcium buildup on my night guard. No matter how much I cleaned it, I couldn’t get rid of it. This product really works and it’s so easy to use. Just plop the tablet in warm water and soak for 5 minutes and you’re done. Glad I found this!

I was really excited to try these Polident ProGuard Retainer Cleaning Tablets due to their claim of crystal clear technology being able to remove stains effortlessly. I have two clear plastic retainers that I wear daily. I clean them manually each day and have used generic retainer/denture cleaning tablets every so often when they get yellow and dirty. Typically it requires some elbow grease to truly get them clean, even with the tablets. I tried using a Polident ProGuard tablet and followed the instructions according to the box. While it did make a small improvement, it still did not remove the harder, yellow stains that were on my retainers. I had to use an electric toothbrush and toothpaste and scrub away for a while to truly get them clean. So overall, these retainer cleaner tablets may work well if you use them consistently to prevent your retainer from getting dirty. But dont expect miracles when it comes to cleaning an older retainer. The tablets seem very similar to other generic options on the market.

The orthodontist told us we could use regular dish soap to wash my daughters retainer each night but she absolutely hated the taste and remaining film of soap. We found this product and she loves it. My husband likes it for his mouthguard as well. The taste and smell is pleasant and it is easy to use. I recommend buying a retainer wash bin for storage and washing to go with it.

There is no harsh lingering chemical taste. My mouthguard feels clean after using.

I just had my braces removed and I’m required to wear my retainers 24/7 for the time being. Of course, brushing them with a toothbrush and soap is kinda icky, so I ordered these. They came in perfect condition, no damage to the packaging at all. However the product itself just isn’t worth the money. I used 1 tablet in 4 ounces of warm water and after 5 minutes and much rinsing, my retainers still looked cloudy. So I switched tactics. 2 tablets in 4 ounces of warm water and 10 minutes of waiting. Rinsed them off. Still cloudy. So, not really worth the money.

I wear clear plastic retainers every night, and Ive used a number of different brands of retainer cleaning tablets. These seem to work just as good, if not better, than the other brands Ive tried. Just as important to me is that they come from a well-respected drug/health company, not some no-name OEM factory in China. If its going in my mouth every night, Id rather clean my retainers with a product whose company I trust.

I definitely feel like this does a better job at cleaning my retainer than the denture tablets ever did. Not as good as retainer bright, but more affordable for everyday cleaning.
