> 3 dayI wear clear plastic retainers every night, and Ive used a number of different brands of retainer cleaning tablets. These seem to work just as good, if not better, than the other brands Ive tried. Just as important to me is that they come from a well-respected drug/health company, not some no-name OEM factory in China. If its going in my mouth every night, Id rather clean my retainers with a product whose company I trust.

> 3 dayI had a strange burning on my tongue after using this on my nightguard 1 time. I rinsed my guard really well! I tried one more night and in the morning the roof of my mouth was sore and burning in addition to my tongue. I stopped using this and had to return it. I was hopeful, but unfortunately it hurt me, I wouldnt recommend this product to people who have chemical sensitivities or allergies. I appreciate the timely refund after my return.

> 3 dayMy kids all have some type of retainer or mouth appliance, even I have a night guard. Things like that have lots of nooks and crannies that make them a challenge to clean. These Polident ProGuard Retainer Cleaning effervescence tablets make keeping your retainers clean a snap. Plus, because they bubble up, they are fun to watch and so my kids actually use them. They smell minty fresh too! All in all, I am pleased with these Polident ProGuard Retainer Cleaning tablets, I keep a box in each bathroom and under my kitchen sink. These are great to use on toothbrush heads too to help keep them clean as well.

My 3 Cents
Greater than one weekMy husband has worn a night guard for about 3 years due to bruxism (grinding his teeth). His dentist advised him to clean it once a week with dish liquid and a soft brush and on other days to rinse it before putting in the case. Over the years the guard has become stained and my husband hates the night after the soap cleaning because there is a little residual flavor :( This Polident ProGuard & Retainer cleaners were just what we were looking for - something easy to use and would hopefully clean away the stains since it advertised crystal clear and “lifts stains, removes discoloration”. Well, they are very easy to use - just unwrap a tablet, pop it in a bit of warm water and then let your guard sit in the solution for 3-5 minutes and brush it off. As far as the stain removal, it didn’t do a miracle, removing old set in stains. For that you’d need a lot of manual labor - using this solution with an electric toothbrush helps a bit.. I suspect that if you have a new appliance, it will stay clear but if you’re trying to revive a yucky discolored one you will have mixed results. Although, you do have to be careful so you don’t damage your appliance. As far as the taste, this is minty, smells good, and doesn’t leave a gross flavor after cleaning. Hopefully they also kill off any bacteria / germs as advertised. I like that this comes in individually portioned packs so they don’t react with moisture in the air. I also like how many come in a pack (120 / 4 months supply). They are quite a good value at less than $5 a month at current cost. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend use of these on aligners, retainers, Invisalign’s, etc because they are non-abrasive. You could also use them to clean out your waterpik, electric toothbrush, etc. Overall, we’re disappointed that they weren’t a miracle cure but really we shouldn’t have expected it. They do help, it’s just a shame that we didn’t use these from the start with his guard. Theyre easy to use and seem to do a good job.

> 3 dayWas looking for a cleaner for my Invisalign trays and was nervous about the tinting risk of the clear trays. Some trays have to be worn longer than others but these tablets keep them fresh and remain perfectly clear for the 2 week trays I wear. No staining and feel clean without risk of scratching while brushing as an alternative.

> 3 dayPolident ProGuard Retainer Cleaning Tablets Mouth Guard Cleaner and Retainer Cleaner Tablets Pack of 3, 40 Count I wear a mouthguard nightly for teeth grinding. My mouthguard is hard to clean because the one that I wear is not a 1-piece but has a piece that slides into other pieces which means there are nooks and crannies where bacteria can hide. I had thought about using regular Polident but wasn’t sure if it was safe for my mouthguard. I’m still not sure if regular Polident cleaning tablets are safe or not for mouthguards but Polident produces cleaning tablets specifically for mouth guards and retainers. I drop my mouthguard into a cup plus a Polident cleaning tablet. It foams and does its work. That night, I rinse my mouthguard and it feels super clean and ready to use. ⛵⚓Seas the Day⚓⛵

> 3 dayMouth guards and retainers get funky - these tablets defunk them. They are easy to use - fill a glass with warm water, drop the tablet in and drop the mouth guard or retainer in. Let them sit for a few hours and they smell and taste great! I use them once a week.

Greater than one weekI use this to clean my mouth guard and it works well. I let my mouth guard soak usually for a few hours (mainly because I forget to take it out) but any odor is gone and it feels clean when I put it back in. I like these large boxes so I only have to buy them a few times a year and always have some on hand.
