The buttons for filtering the tweeter and adjusting the sound based on the proximity of the nearest wall get stuck in the down position and wont release. So you better like the sound that way because youll never be able to change it again. :( Also, if youre not gentle, the plastic fins that secure the speaker to the sheetrock will break when youre installing these. Sound quality is decent, but the button issue makes these defective, and it happened on both of the speakers I bought.

Excellent sound, easy to mount, we are extremely happy. Very well made. We kept the screens off because the drivers look so nice.

These are fantastic. Not even for the money - although that helps - or for in-wall speakers. Theyre just really great. I replaced some nice paradigm bookshelf speakers with these since I have a crawling newborn and consider these an upgrade. I would recommend running a auto-EQ program on your receiver to set the crossovers correctly. Mine is at 80 hz (normal). For installation, if youre comfortable finding the space between studs, cutting drywall along a straight line and fishing wires (sometimes through studs) then its pretty basic stuff. I do consider myself on the handier side and dont mind drilling through wall studs, understanding where electrical wires are already running and using fish tape. If any of that sounds challenging to you, call a pro.

I really love these speakers. I replaced 2 really good Polk tower speakers with these so I could utilize a projector screen in my man cave. Im using them as my Front L & Front R speakers behind an Amazon purchased Elite Screens audio-transparent screen (model ER100WH1-A1080P3). However, I wouldnt buy these if you dont plan on getting a sub. Ive paired these with a Polk Center Speaker, Polk Sub, 2 Polk RC85is as my rears, & 2 Polk RC60is in my ceiling. Even though these will be hidden from view, I was amazed at how tight to the wall the actual speaker/cover was. They look amazing. It has an extremely low profile, even less than the other wall/ceiling Polk speakers I have. And the magnet covers are so easy to take off compared to all my other in-wall speakers. Installing them is easy (running the speaker wire can be the tricky part). What youll need: Tape measure Stud finder (highly recommended) Level Pencil Laser level (optional) Sheetrock saw (can get for like $4 @ a hardware store) *make sure you dont cut into any electrical, plumbing, cold-air return, etc. I installed these in the only room in my house that has a drop ceiling, so I was lucky and had a better idea of what I was dealing with. Still there are no guarantees you wont find any surprises until you actually cut the hole. If youre not comfortable doing this, I would recommend hiring a professional. *make sure to stay 1- 1.5 away from any stud. You want the tabs to fully install so you get a good hold.
