> 24 hourUsed to round out our surround sound Polk Speaker System. Blend nicely as in the wall speakers and has amazing sound quality! Sound quality and detail is so clear, we sometimes get startled by the sneaky sounds in movies, so does our dog. You forget they are in the wall until the movie starts. They look upscale and our neighbors are jealous.

> 24 hourI must be missing something here based on the other reviewers. Solid build. For the cost, these are basically what you are paying for in terms of sound and receiving a little more in terms of features and build quality. They look very clean when installed properly. So overall above average value. I knew I would be sacrificing a little with the lack of enclosure on the rear but overall impressed with how its managed. Definitely not blown away but not crying about it either. Definitely recommend tossing some audio insulation around the rear of these. Its cheap, youre ripping your wall to shreds anyway and it goes a long way. Sound is well balanced but definitely requires a sub to complete any kind of true depth, as with pretty much any in-walls for entertainment systems. You defintely need to tweak your receiver settings to get these to your liking. Play around with your levels until you say ahhh, thats it. Default usually isnt the winner. Read the couple paragraphs in the manual regarding the 2 wall distance and tweeter filter as well. The wall distance switch matters most and for most its going to be over 2. My tweeter filter is on given the acoustics of the room, but presumably most people will want it off. The sound itself, once tweaked (Im using a brand new Denon receiver) is what you would expect from a speaker that costs this much. The other reviewers...I dont know. I just dont agree with what many have said in regards to the final product. They sound good but I am not doing cartwheels. The room we tossed them in definitely wasnt getting the GoldenEar budget which is why I purchased them. At the end of the day if you can spend a little more I would look at in-wall enclosed or ultra slim on-wall options or Speakercraft makes some reasonably priced 3 ways that plop in your wall just as these do. Overall I am not disappointed but not going crazy like many other people here. No my objective to be a Debbie Downer but wanted to give a more realistic review than what is posted here. I know I would have appreciated reading it.

> 24 hourI ordered all of the components of my theater system upfront so when I was running wires, cutting holes, etc. I would have everything at my finger tips. I didnt read that after 30 days you cant return anything - even if you got a defective product. Given the timeline for most DIYers this is too short of a period of time. When I called Polk to see if they would honor their warranty, they refused to send me a new speaker and instead send me some parts and expected to be disassemble and repair.

> 24 hourI keep the covers off and always get compliments. The sound is great too, especially for the price. Installation can be stressful if you arent already pre-wired in the area or the stud gaps are anything but standard. The right speaker barely fit, in fact I couldnt tighten the dog ears on the right side properly as there was a stud in the way, however it was tight enough to be solidly in the wall even when I put it to work!

> 24 hourThese are fantastic. Not even for the money - although that helps - or for in-wall speakers. Theyre just really great. I replaced some nice paradigm bookshelf speakers with these since I have a crawling newborn and consider these an upgrade. I would recommend running a auto-EQ program on your receiver to set the crossovers correctly. Mine is at 80 hz (normal). For installation, if youre comfortable finding the space between studs, cutting drywall along a straight line and fishing wires (sometimes through studs) then its pretty basic stuff. I do consider myself on the handier side and dont mind drilling through wall studs, understanding where electrical wires are already running and using fish tape. If any of that sounds challenging to you, call a pro.

> 24 hourIve used these for a year and a half and pretty happy with the sound. They sound great paired with an entire set of Polk RT vanishing series and a decent (non Polk) subwoofer (I would not recommend in-walls/in-ceilings for home theatre without a sub). Time to address the elephant in the room though; the magnetic covers. If these speakers are within 3 metres or so of a subwoofer then they will rattle and ruin the movie experience. So either you need to take the covers off and on for each movie (which chips paint off your wall around the corners of the speakers) or just leave them off all the time (which isnt so bad as they look quite manly with the covers off). The build quality feels pretty good though I am constantly worried that the tweeter caps will disintegrate off like my centre speaker (255c-RT did)
