Greater than one weekExtremely well packaged! The PM3-55 arrived in perfect condition. Installation was easy (for lead acid battery there is no need to adjust) Super simple installation, my coach batteries were at 10.1v according to the Solar regulator, fired up the genny and the PM3 was immediately reading 14.64v output on my calibrated multi-meter and 13.1 on the solar regulator (reads @ the battery bank). Ill update as time goes on, my comparison will be against a 1992 vintage supply/charger so I am sure this unit will exceed my expectations.

> 3 dayThe converter arrived on time and worked perfect right out of the box! My motorhome batteries were low so it ramped right up to 14.6 volts, stayed there for about 2 hours, then dropped to 13.8 volts for about 4 hours then went to 13.2 volts and has maintained there ever since. The next day I turned on the furnace all of the lights and both tvs and it held steady at 13.3 volts. It has only been a few days, but at this point I couldnt be happier with this Power Max Converter! Here is the link to a pdf that shows how to install it, that was easy to follow and worked perfectly. Ive had it now for a couple of months and it is still performing great! [...]

> 3 dayI installed this in my RV to replace my factory converter. The factory converters are loud and inefficient. I installed this unit in my front cargo compartment and ran new 6 gauge wires directly to my batteries. As other reviews have stated the fan speed is not variable, but it does only turn on when needed. For example, my factory converter runs the fan at full speed when pushing 8 amps into the batteries, this unit can do over 8 amps without the fan running at all. Also, in my initial testing this thing pushed 3x the amps into the batteries as the factory unit. Strongly recommend this unit for mounting in a cargo area. This will allow my to charge the batteries much more quickly when dry camping and using the generator.

> 3 daySuper cool!!! Easy to hook up, great quality and charging my Lance cab over battery like a champ at 14.6 Volts. The Parallax power unit I had running my Rig burned out for the forth time since 1997 mind you, but I’m not spending the time or money for one of those again. So I bought this unit and relocated it to under my sink for better air flow and easy to replace if this unit ever goes out. Have size 8 AGW wire on hand because that what this unit requires and what size wire that should be used.

> 3 dayThe PowerMax PM3-55 worked well on the bench and charged my new AGM batteries. I like the fact that the voltage is adjustable. There is a tiny switch that lets you adjust a fixed voltage (set with a small trimpot next to the switch). Important note: The adjustment affects the voltages on either setting of the switch (including the normal setting which affects the voltages during the 3 stages of charging; Bulk, Absorption, and Float), but either way the adjustability is a plus ! The unit did not quite fit (as an exact replacement for the WF-8955 Converter/Charger) in my sons RV (very close though, and probably could have made it work with slight modification). Since this was intended as an upgrade (and the original was still working), we decided to leave well enough alone and leave the original in place. In any case, Im sure I will be able to make use of it as a nice charger for my car batteries when needed.

Greater than one weekI live in my van, so getting power from outlets to charge my batteries is pretty important. I bought this because at the time I had access to an outlet. It worked as expected. It was a little louder than I wanted, but then again, I am in a VERY small space, and I am in very close proximity in the same space as this, so my experience is going to be a bit skewed as a result. But, given what its job is, and the power levels its dealing with, I cant blame this at all for that. It needs to cool itself. I have since lost the ability to use this as that outlet is no longer accessible to me, but for the time I was able to use this, it worked flawlessly. I plan to use it more in the future.

> 3 dayInstall was easy. Mounting holes were same spacing but 1/2” wider then old one. No biggie. You do hear the fan kick on and off if all is quiet in motor home. (But how often is that). The fan should allow for longevity. I like the constant even voltage, and keeping my batteries charged. It does still work if battery is removed.
