> 3 dayI used this unit to replace an 80 AMP Intellicharger in a 40 5th wheel travel trailer/toy hauler that is in year round use. The unit replaced had been severely damaged by a mysterious power surge on the 120v AC input along with several other appliances in the trailer. It is working perfectly and having no trouble doing what its supposed to do. If the Trailer were not on nearly continuous AC shore power I might have gone with a higher output PS/charger but this one does just fine at less than half the cost of the unit it replaced. I reserved one star in my rating because who knows how long it will last.

> 3 dayBefore purchasing I read reviews, and some said this unit would not output the rated current. I have seen this 55amp unit output 45amps when my two group 31 batteries were at 12.5V with an additional 12V load of 16 amps. Also it switches between charging cycles as you would expect. But FYI, I have a Honda EU1000i generator and it cannot start this charger if the battery voltage is below 13.4V. So I needed to use a 10 amp charger, bring the batteries up to 13.4, and then switch over to this charger. I called the manufacture to ask if there was any way to limit the maximum current. And they answered the phone! There is no way to adjust it. You can adjust the voltage levels but this would not be enough or the correct way to fix this. They told me for my Honda eu1000i I would need to go to the 35 amp model. The fan is noisy and only runs at one high speed.

> 3 daySo far so good I bought this to replace my old RV converter that was boiling my batteries pretty badly and this things worked like a charm for the last month. This thing is QUIET! No more incessant humming from the old piece of crap I had. Will update if anything changes.

> 3 dayWed been having issues with our second WCF 9880. The second WCF had been in for 3 years and in the last year had been spotty in its use. Had to turn off the power several times and reset the WCF. Read any number of great reviews about the Powermax. Bought one, changed it out for the WCF 9880. Wow - right out the box it just works! Started off at 14.4 volts to take up the slack for the WCF, after about 2 hours dropped back to 13.6. Looking for the 13.2. Some other reviewers stated it was noisy - not for us. Fairly quiet. Fingers crossed it lasts for more than 2 years.

> 3 dayDoes what they say. Once you get it fine tuned in. I prefer using the middle setting on charging an battery an running auxiliaries. Ran on 1 an 3 the fan kicks on an then turns off. I’m not sure if it’s supposed to do so. But works great an doesn’t produce a lot of heat it stays fairly cool. I’ve put atleast 100+hours on it in the past month an it works properly! Good buy for the money

> 3 dayFinally got this Converter installed. It is working perfectly in my camper. Has three phases of power generation, from quick charge to steady system 12 volt to trickle charge. Used original converter chassis so the Power max slipped right back in the panel. Did have to drill some cooling holes. The original unit is no longer made, so, any converter would have required work. The PowerMax is the easiest to convert to my rig! Working Fantastic so far!

> 3 dayI use this professionally as an automotive technician. It allows me to supply a clean DC power supply to the vehicle while I perform sensitive tasks like control unit programming. Modern day system control units sometimes allow a programming operation only one time to a module. If communication is corrupted at any point, youve essentially bricked it. What I love best about this product is the battery charging feature. It was able to bring back old dead batteries that other chargers could not. It has very literally saved me money! Also, the 55 amp (for this model) crank assist feature is STRONG. Remember youll need to make up some leads for yourself if you intend to use it like I am. I cut up an old set of jumper cables.
