> 3 dayI absolutely love this power converter. Easily powers my 1100 watt amp and pioneer head unit. The fan is hecca silent and only kicks on when needed. I completely recommend this product.

Greater than one weekI replaced my RV converter with this, i expected it to be a temporary measure but its held up fine. Ive got 300 watts of solar panels so it doesnt generally have to do a lot of work but im still impressed it has lasted so long.

> 3 dayOut of box the voltage was set right. Measured 10A from a battery 90%+ full. Waited until morning battery was on 12.2v and measured peak of 46A. After 30 minutes it stabalized at ~40A. Some reviews have you believe these only output about 55% of rated capacity. Not true but you need the proper size wiring at least 4awg with sub 2ft run), enough battery to accept it, and it has to be drained enough. Runs fine off sportsman 2000 open frame generator at 2000ft elevation.

> 3 dayI used this unit to replace an 80 AMP Intellicharger in a 40 5th wheel travel trailer/toy hauler that is in year round use. The unit replaced had been severely damaged by a mysterious power surge on the 120v AC input along with several other appliances in the trailer. It is working perfectly and having no trouble doing what its supposed to do. If the Trailer were not on nearly continuous AC shore power I might have gone with a higher output PS/charger but this one does just fine at less than half the cost of the unit it replaced. I reserved one star in my rating because who knows how long it will last.

> 3 dayInstall was easy. Mounting holes were same spacing but 1/2” wider then old one. No biggie. You do hear the fan kick on and off if all is quiet in motor home. (But how often is that). The fan should allow for longevity. I like the constant even voltage, and keeping my batteries charged. It does still work if battery is removed.

> 3 dayYou loosen 3 screws on the old one and unplug it. Put the wires back just like you took them out and plug it in. DONE 10 mins. I was a bit surprised that the exact brand and part number that I replaced 2+ years ago had already died. Im giving the same brand another chance. Its says RV so open your wallet.

> 3 dayTroubleshooting electrical issues in my new to me used RV revealed no 12 volt power charging the house batteries when plugged in to shore power. Sure enough -- the old converter was shot. Looked online for replacements and found this Powermax converter at a reasonable price and in a form factor that would easily replace the dead converter. The 12 volt connections tighten down easily using a slot screwdriver. The previous converter used hex allen screws, which can be a pain if you have misplaced or lost the proper size wrench. No issues here--everybody has lots of screwdrivers--even neighbors! The two 30 amp safety fuses are easily accessible if you ever need to replace them--a nice touch. The converter is quiet and charges in three steps just like advertised (confirmed by my voltmeter). I bought the 55 amp model as my previous converter was also 55 amps. But, I would not hesitate to go for a higher amp model if I were to do this again.
