Paid full price for what I suspect was opened box unit. The mic didnt work and fuse blew first time it was keyed up. During further inspection I discovered the power cord in the box contained a 2 amp fuse with a fuse holder labeled for 2 amp fuse! Radio draws 6 amps on transmit. Replaced fuse and mic, now all is well. Havent repaired the shorted box mic yet but will just for a spare. Nice radio but beware of seller. May have been honest mistake of someone putting opened return in the wrong bin.

When I got this radio I wasnt impressed with the power. Dont get me wrong, it does what it says it does, but the modulation and swing was lost getting those numbers, and swing is what I was wanting. I like it over my Stryker 955, Galaxy 959 and my 148. I took it to my local shop and removed the mod limiter and had it tuned to not be a complete splatter box and now I LOVE it. Its almost doing the same as my barefoot Stryker 490 if I run the President with a KL203. There are plenty of YouTube videos on this radio for real feedback.

This version IS the latest version of the President Lincoln ll line, being that it is the Lincoln ll+. The sale offerer has mistakenly mismarked the version stating that it is V3. There is a Version 3 of the Lincoln ll, the third in the line. This is the fourth issue of the Lincoln line thus the + after Lincoln ll I own one, love it and do know the various versions.

Excellent radio! Ive had this about a month now and am still finding impressive features, some of which arent in the manual. I did the extra channel mod to include 11m, super easy and doesnt eliminate 10m or 12m, it just adds another band to the band menu. Tuning now runs from 24.710 to 30.110 MHz and can be tuned in as small as .1 KHz increments by using the push button on the tuning dial to move the cursor under the readout to the desired space and then turn the dial.(this is not in the manual). The TX sound is incredibly clear. People think the mic is cheap because its lightweight, DO NOT BE FOOLED! This is an electrete condenser mic and the dual filter is tuned to this specific mic. Dont change mics! It is different from any other mic out there and other mics wont work correctly with the tuned circuit in the radio. If you really have to have a heavy mic just hot glue some fishing weights to this one, thats what the other mics have anyway. The clarifier is unlocked from the factory, no need to mod it. In fact, its better than unlocked, its a menu item with 4 options, off, rx only, tx only, or both rx and tx. Ive never seen this ability on any radio, even on modded radios. SWR is displayed every time you key up. The freq counter switches to an SWR counter when you key up. It has high SWR protection that it also a menu item that you can turn on or off and set the step down level. This things got it all! Well, almost all. The only two things I dont like, the bottom firing speaker. Just get rid of it. Is just taking up space in the cabinet. The only place it works is in an overhead mounting anyway. I pulled mine out, maybe it will help with cooling to have the extra airflow through the open holes. Get a good external. No biggie. The biggie? No direct entry keypad anywhere. A keypad on the mic and this thing would be perfect.

I attached power to the radio and the fuse blew in my power supply as well as the inline fuse in the red power cord. Using a VOM I determined that pins 1 and 3 of the power connector on the back panel are shorted inside the radio. It didnt even work for a second. DOA
