This stuff is excellent. Three salient points about this protein, specifically in the “S’Mores” variety: 1) The taste, in my opinion, is the best of the Pro JYM lineup. It is a great blend of rich and sweet, but not overbearing. The taste does remind you of the classic campfire treat - in liquid form. 2) Consistency and “mixability.” It is different than the standard fare of hydrolyzed whey blends in that it contains casein and egg protein, both of which never seem to mix perfectly...until now. In a protein shaker, I’m able to get a nice smooth consistency, free of chunks and undissolved bits. In a cup, mixing with a spoon, it doesn’t come out well. That being said, I think the type of consumer who buys this probably owns a shaker of some sort. If you wait 15 minutes before consuming, the mixture gets even smoother. 3) I don’t use these as a meal replacement; however, one shake is satisfying enough to fill me up for a couple of hours. The richness is perfect for the pre-bedtime hunger snack cravings, and the casein proteins digest slower than standard whey. End result? Extra boost of protein before bed without loading up on calories, carbs, and sugars. If you’re working a calorie deficit for your fitness journey, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at the filling properties of this blend.

The biggest drawback is that it is an expensive protein in terms of price/oz. It also sucks in that you really need to use a blender to mix it. The blend of proteins is a nice touch, I find that it keeps me more full for longer, but that could just be totally subjective and depend on what you are blending it with. Its worth an occasional splurge, I wouldnt consistently buy it unless it just works right for you.

I’m writing this review purely from a muscle recovery/muscle growth perspective (i.e. post workout) - I don’t use protein supplements as meal replacements. With that being said, I wanted to like this protein powder for two reasons: 1) I understand some people are sensitive to whey so this may be a good option because it uses different types of protein in it other than just whey, and 2) it’s expensive and I spent the money on it. However, I have three main issues with it: 1) the flavoring is overpowering to the point I have to mix it with at least 24 oz of water, at which point I’m just waterlogged by the time I finish it, and feel gross - the flavoring is simply too much; 2) it doesn’t blend well, so again, you need at least 24 oz of water and it still clumps, and again, you’re waterlogged and feel gross, and 3) it’s expensive. Personally, I would rather just chug Optimum Nutrition Whey, which easily dissolves in 6-8 oz of water, versus the minimum of 24 oz this protein powder needs. 6-8 oz of water vs 24 oz of water makes a huge difference. So my muscles refuel and recover quicker without me being waterlogged and feeling gross. Disclaimer: I am not a representative for any supplement company, I’m just an average joe who works out - this is a completely independent review.

The cookies and cream flavor is more like a vanilla with crunchy salty bits in it. My biggest problem with this protein is that it will not mix. No matter which style of shaker bottle I use, there are always clumps and gritty textures throughout. I chose this product because of the blend of protein sources, but sadly I am having trouble using it. I’ll probably resort to this one once I run out of the other brands I’ve bought and enjoy. Will not purchase again.

Ive been using Pro JYM whey for the past year. Usually, whey and I dont get along. However, this product has been fantastic. I do believe that Pro JYM is the better absorbed and a higher quality protein supplement. I have used the vanilla, but the chocolate peanut butter came by mistake. Both taste great and both deliver a quality whey.

Great product but just raised its price by $15 though.. I will no longer be supporting this brand and I will continue to get the cheaper protein as it’s available.

I am dieting and found keeping my dietary protein levels up excedingly difficult without excessive calories. I was loosing too much muscle mass along with my fat. That is, until Pro JYM came to my rescue. I now start my day with one scoop of Tahitian Vanilla Bean Jym, mixed with one 5.3 once greek yogurt (vanilla or coconut), and three tablespoons of water. It is best if allowed to rest, refrigerated, at least for one hour before eating, the slight grittiness fades with time, I mix mine up the night before. This pudding-like mixture equals 36 grams of protein at only 260 calories (280 for coconut), and holds me over well, until lunch. At the end of the day, if my protein levels still calculate low, a simular pudding, for desert, will top of my protein needs for the day. This product tastes great, and mixes quite easily. I have had great results by adding Pro JYM to my diet.

About the Pro JYM protein powder

supported goals: muscle - growth - strength

what it is: the perfect blend of three of the most effective types of proteins for building muscle: whey, micellar casein, and Egg protein. The three types of protein are absorbed in the body at varying rates of speed – Whey extremely fast, Casein very slowly, and egg at a “medium” pace. This is exactly how you want your protein to act both before and after workouts to ensure that the muscles get an immediate supply of amino acids (The building blocks of protein) as well as a steady trickle of them in the hours following

research now suggests that when you add medium-digesting and slow-digesting proteins to fast-digesting whey, muscle protein synthesis remains elevated for longer than when using whey alone. And muscle protein retention is higher, as well. That means that more protein is being built in the muscle. That is what may help lead to long-term gains in Muscle growth and strength.
each serving of Pro JYM provides 24 grams protein:
7.5g Whey protein isolate> 7g micellar casein> 7g milk protein isolate> 2.5g egg white protein

what sets It apart: aside from being a protein blend in a crowded market of sometimes under per forming 100% whey protein powders, Pro Jim is also a non-proprietary blend. A proprietary blend is any supplement that doesn"t list the precise amount of every single active ingredient it contains. This isn"t just prevalent with pre-workouts and fat-burners – a lot of protein powders on the market are proprietary blends because they don"t tell you the exact amounts of the proteins in the formula. Pro JYM, on the other hand, lists the exact amounts on the front of the container of all three types of proteins in their four distinct forms: whey protein isolate (7.5 grams), micellar casein (7 grams), egg albumen (2.5 grams) and milk protein isolate (7 grams – 5.5 grams casein, 1.5 grams whey).

nitrogen spiking (aka “amino spiking” or “protein spiking”) is an unscrupulous technique where some supplement companies put in less protein than what"s listed on the label as a means of slashing costs and increasing their protein margins – At the user"s expense. Getting a “spiked” protein means paying for, say, 24 grams of protein but getting only 18 grams of actual whole proteins. With Pro JYM, you get all 24 grams. Pro Jim is not and never will be spiked with cheap fillers.
