> 3 dayI had been using a similar looking clipper that I bought at the pet store. That one gives a big crunch cut and leaves fractures. Then I fix with a file. I thought that was normal, and I suppose it is. This Japanese clipper however, is a game-changer. It creates a clean cut and requires much less pressure to operate. I also use it to fine-tune the cut by clipping just the edges to soften them. Then its much less work with a file to round it further. My cats are calmer with this precision cutting versus the old heavy-pressure chopping. Sad for me and my cats that I didnt find this sooner.

> 3 dayAfter years and years of clipping cat claws with all manner of clippers from the pet stores, big box stores, etc., I had no idea it could be like this. These went thru her nails so quick and clean I was done almost before she knew I was doing it. To look at this clipper—they don’t look that different. I guess there is just no substitute for a precision tool in whatever you are doing.

Greater than one weekI have been trimming cat and dog nails for 30+ years. The scissors get dull after the first use. They will keep cutting but after a short time the animals dread it. The nails arent well cut, crack, sometimes 2 cuts are needed to make a non-shredded end of the nail. Horrible for all. These are like cutting through butter! None of the 3 animals I have been using it on appear to care less. Beautiful trims and calm pets !!! Cannot recommend this more!!!!

Just the facts
> 3 dayI didnt want to pay more for these but from Japan so I did. Well, they definitely get the job done way better than those cheapo junk ones. They dont rip the nails and splinter them. They do a good snip without damage to the nail.

> 3 dayIve had a number of different and inexpensive nail trimmers for my cats over a lot of years, and I concur with several other reviews here that this is the best one Ive used. It is a bit more heavy duty and much sharper than prior implements Ive had. Cutting my cats nails with this is significantly gentler for her as theres no twisting by her or me - it just slices through the nail effortlessly - and she tolerates it without any squirming. So while this item is more expensive than others online here, its very well worth it. In retrospect I should have looked into upgrading to this a long time ago.
