Greater than one weekAn elderly lady owned the house before we bought it and the daughter told me she tried everything to get the shower doors cleaned! I’ve been trying to clean these doors since December 2022! I’ve tried everything & every product so i decided to give this a try and IT WORKS! I followed the directions applied 2 coats ..the first coat kinda lifted and broke everything down so I applied a second coat but this time I Applied the product with my hands and water let set for 5 minutes then scrubbed with a scrubber and added water then rinsed completely and towel dried the doors

Greater than one weekTLDR: It really works on really tough really old spots! I tried all kinds of harsh chemicals and abrasives on my new shower doors with no luck. Best I found was scraping with a razor blade and regular scrubbing with steel wool, but still left a lot of spots. I thought they were going to be permanent. One expert website recommended wet sanding with 3000-7000 grit sandpaper, which I luckily tried on a small area first because it scratched the glass but did not remove the spots. So I had my doubts when reviewers claimed this product removed old soap scum and tough water stains. Well I was blown away by the results. Not only was my glass crystal clear but it was effortless. It only took a pea-sized drop on a wet sponge per side of glass. There was no harsh fumes or scrubbing. My tip is use lots of water. The directions recommend a damp cloth but it felt gritty and did not go on evenly so I kept adding water until it was dripping wet. Also use lots of water when rinsing off and run a clean sponge or your hands over the glass or it may leave a hazy film behind.

> 3 dayI had high expectations for rain x shower door cleaner x treme clean, but unfortunately it didnt live up to its reputation. I excitedly got in my shower and squeezed some out onto a scrubber sponge and it was very thick, almost as thick as caulk! I put it on using circular motions as instructed,I let it dry and then re-wetted my doors and scrubbed them again using the scrubber sponge and then rinsed with water and dried them and they look exactly the same as they did before I used the product! I then tried it using a Mr Clean sponge and did it all over and the same outcome! Very disappointed in Rain X as they do have some great products just not this one.

> 3 dayEsperaba que el producto pudiera quital la cal de la ducha, creo que para vidrios nuevos debe funcionar, pero vidrios con manchas es muy díficil eliminar y el acabado no queda impecable.

> 3 dayI was skeptical this would work after spending several hours scrubbing my water stained shower glass with vinegar and baking soda to no effect. To my surprise the rainx product completely cleared up my cloudy, spotty glass. Took a lot of elbow grease but works great.

11-06-2025I saw this on one of those articles with a teaser headline like: Top 25 products users love at Amazon. When I think of RainX, I think of that stuff you used on your windshield in the 90s to bead up the water. I was hoping for the same thing for the shower door to keep it clean. I was disappointed. I tried it two weeks in a row. The first time, I just figured I didnt follow directions. The second time, I followed directions exactly. Both times, it didnt get all the grime off, and left a haze in some areas. I ended up re-cleaning it using what I will continue to use for soap scum-Scrubbing Bubbles. It does a better job with less effort.

> 3 dayLook. If you’re shower doors have minimal soap scum on them. It’ll work pretty good. The top like quarter of my shower door is nice and shiny. But the rest of it. Is a little cleaner with a solid layer of soap scum on it. And trust me. I scrubbed. Rinsed. Scrubbed. Rinsed. For a solid 30 minutes on just the door alone. And it still has that layer of scum on it. I live in a rental. So i dont really spend a lot of money to clean and fix above the minimum weekly cleaning. But i hate how the shower glass looks. So i spent the money. Seeing how well all of the automotive rain-x products have worked. And i was let down. Extremely… without using it as a cutting or buffing compound and breaking out the electric polisher… i really dont see it being able to do what it says. Even using a mr clean magic eraser and repeating the first few steps over and over and over. It has made no change from the initial layer it removed after only a weeks worth of soap scum, dont waste your money unless you have a very thin layer of soap scum on your glass. And immediately follow it with some sort of hydrophobic coating or ceramic coating to keep the soap scum off.

> 3 dayWorks well if done right. Apply with semi-damp microfiber (like lightly damp, not soaked just so it makes it easier to wipe on glass nothing more). You almost apply like youre waxing your car. Then, rinse with straight water if you can. I removed doors and used detachable shower head, but you can do however. Then, take dry microfiber cloth (bone dry) and wipe/buff clean (again, like car wax). All the hardwater stains should be good. They didnt look brand new, but they were way more clear then they have ever been. Its almost a very, very, fine polish for glass. Might want to wear gloves, but no respirator or particle mask needed (it doesnt stink at all).

> 3 dayI like rainex products, but i was skeptical because ive tried products that just didnt work. This product works. This is what I did: I purchased a soft scrub sponge, wet the sponge add the product to the sponge and apply to the affected areas in a circular motion; then use the soft scrub side with a little pressure the work in a circular motion; I then used a hand wand with hot water rinse, but rinse and wipe at the same time. Let dry and wipe down with a paper towel. Looks great, happy it works.
