    I just got done submitting a review for a windows 8.1 install/repair disk that DOES NOT work as expected, so I suppose I should point out that this one does. You should understand how to set the boot sequence on your computer or how to get it to boot from CD/DVD and know the difference between an OS upgrade and a clean install. This disk will let you do either, or repair an existing installation that no longer boots properly.

    This disc is useless. Have a locked Hard drive and still have the problem. Very very limited resources loaded on the disc apart from Microsoft released repair items. Not recommended!

    It took a few tries for my laptop to pick up the media for some reason. I tried both UEFI and BIOS a couple times, and finally on the third BIOS try it picked it up.

    Many of the utilities on this DVD were very helpful in analyzing my system and copying files to an external drive. However, the only version of Windows 10 provided is Pro and, since I only have a license for Home, I could not install Windows. If only I had known ....

    I have an HP Pavillion computer that had Windows 7 Pro. Earlier this week I had to replace the Power Supply. After that, having a Windows 8 Pro upgrade disk I proceeded to install that and use this product to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro. Setup stated the upgrade could not be done on this computer. I have a key but could not even get to that point. A total waste of money. Got upgrade elsewhere and it work flawlessly.

The bios must be changed so the DVD drive is set to the 1st Boot device and the hard drive set to the 2nd Boot device, save the changes and restart with the disc in.
