RV Water Heater Anode Rod

I have a travel trailer that I needed a new anode rod for. It helps preserve the water heater somehow by attracting contaminants like excess lime - this part of the country has lots of it and the old rod was looking pretty bad. Anyway I measured the old one for length and ordered accordingly. Perfect fit.

So part of the description is Extends the life of your water heater by corroding itself so your water heater tank doesnt and after one season this thing is definitely corroding. The old anode had been in there for at least +15 years and looked about like you would expect it to. This one has corroded mostly near the thread end enough to make me worry it will break off and drop into the tank if I tried to make it another season. But can I really complain about replacing a part that only costs $13 each season? It fit perfectly for my Fleetwood Niagra pop up.

My only regret was that they didnt have 2 of these, as I like to keep one spare. The material should make this anode longer lasting than a regular one. I have not had the water heater on since installing this item, so I cant speak to that aspect.

These Anode rods are designed to eventually wear and be replaced by protecting your RV water heater tank from corrosion and contaminants. This particular design and manufacturer are producing effective and well-made rods than fit without any issues in those tanks. The price is extremely reasonable with the only issue being that they are shipped from China, so delivery may be slower than other items on Amazon. Perfectly happy with these rods and will purchase again when its time.
