17-11-2024The Samsung 870 QVO SSD was the best option I found for quickly adding 2TB of storage to my new NUC Box2. I have used a lot of Samsung SSDs in the past, but usually buy the EVO and never had problems with them. This size in the EVO was cost prohibitive for just using it as extra storage. If it were for the main drive I mightve gone ahead with the extra cost, but its just storage. This is the first QVO Ive tried. So far it is great for my intended use. Will update if any problems arise, but so far it has been smooth sailing.

> 3 dayInstalled this unit on my iMac (late 2013, 21.5-inch). Unspeakably faster than the original HDD I had on this Mac. Installation itself takes about 20 minutes which includes removing the display unit and gluing it back on (with thin double-sided tape) when you are done replacing the SSD.

> 3 dayI’ve seen a few reviews here claiming to have gotten a used unit. It’s actually very easy to tell exactly how many hours, and how mind times it’s been powered on. In the 1990s storage device manufacturers got together and created something called S.M.a.r.t, which is built into every single consumer storage device today. Use a software called crystal disk info and you can observe for yourself
