> 24 hourThis is a followup review,I initially wrote that this drive performed up to expectations with 3300/3100 but after owning it for a month and seeing it drop to 3300/1000, I have to report is has failed and is probably defective ...I had this drive and a hynix p31 gold at the same time...Both run with adapters and with heatsinks from the start... the evo 970 plus had very low read iops and low write iops even when new, barely doing half the claimed amount..the hynix had double the iops of the samsung....The samsung ran quite hot from the get go but became Extremely hot as it began to fail..temps initially With heatsink were around 51c and at the time of write speeds dropping, it was probably at 80c as it was too hot to touch ...this is crazy high for an nvme with heatsink and probably why these drive may have poor longevity...samsung Knows the power consumption is thru the roof and it may be a byproduct of the high write speeds....would I recommend for a laptop? Absolutely Not! these are too power hungry, will give you poor battery life and literally fry itself inside ur laptop....The hynix p31 gold was a Much better drive with equal performance and cool running but unusable on mac...
