> 3 dayFinally being able to grab a PS5, my next purchase was to get some additional memory, since the new console really doesn’t have much. Installation is pretty easy, the PS5 recognized it immediately and formatted it within a couple minutes. After setting this as the default storage for the console, I installed several games with no issues. Installs were fairly quick, with the exception of downloads taking their time for digital games or in my case, updates after installing the disk version. This memory has good speed and having used a Samsung SSD as a computer boot drive for years, I know the memory is reliable. The memory also has a good 5-year warranty, which may get tested in a console. I do think these are a bit pricy even on sale, but if you play a lot of console games, a necessary purchase.

> 3 dayNormally this NVME is about 350 dollars but I was able to grab it on sale for 150 dollars. Using it for storing games, I am impressed how fast the load times are. Going from a HDD to this reduces loading times between 50-75% (only tested Doom Eternal and GTA V for these). Make sure your motherboard has at least a Gen 4 M.2 drive, otherwise you wont get the full potential of the incredible read/write speeds. For the price point I paid, definitely dont wait to upgrade.

Greater than one weekLuckily mine came with the latest firmware, so I didnt have to update it. I slapped it in my PS5, checked the speed, and got on with gaming. Even if you do have to update, the process isnt that hard. There are plenty of YouTube videos that will tell you what to do. But it seems like they are all shipping with the latest firmware now, so thats good. Buy one, or five!

> 3 dayAfter owning a PS5 since thanksgiving launch window. I always struggled with the system’s memory having a disc console only helped a little as even disc based games still require space on the ssd. The pain of having to constantly delete games to make space for new ones, and in some cases just to fit a games update got old pretty quickly. But initially the price to expand storage was just a little to steep to justify. But alas with more companies making the ssd that’s ps5 compatible the price was destined to drop. So when I saw a 2TB Samsung 980 pro for $179 I had to jump on it. Let me just say it was super easy install/format and now I have all my digital and disc games with plenty of breathing room for new ones and updates.

> 3 dayI put my games on my PS5 back on the console from another SSD and it took about 20-25 minutes. Installed this one and transferred what was on the other SSD and 100 GB MORE. It took 5 minutes total!! Simply awesome!
