For some reason the Samsung migration software did not work. Downloaded another tool from the web which did the job. It really speeded up an old laptop.

I bought 1 of these about a year ago when building my pc everything is fine with that one. I bought another one in August and its defective. The SSD from August makes the computer stutter/lag for about 1 to 2 seconds every 3-5 minutes. Irt is very disruptive and annoying. They mustve had a little quality issue back in july/august since I am not the only one according to other reviews.

If you have an old computer that still runs the software you need but its struggling along an SSD upgrade will in many cases make it faster than when it came out of the factory with a mechanical HDD.

My original HDD was running at only 5400RPM which made it even slower. The MOST difficult part of the change was getting the case open. After removing all the visable screws and the ones under the rubber feet the case still wouldnt open. I had to use a thin steel blade ( they recommend plastic but I didnt have one) and SLOWLY pry the case apart at the seam. This went slowly and you just have to keep going. Lots of plastic squeeks. The SSD change went very quickly. Putting it back together is again a verySLOW methodical process. The pieces fit together by snapping the pieces together. The SSD works GREAT. I went to the Samsung site and downloaded Samsung Magician and followed the instructions, easy and it worked flawlessly. Very much worth the time. It is very possible to do, just take your time.

I got this to add to my Acer Predator Helios 300 laptop, which only had 256 MB. Now I can fit a lot more games on my computer. It was easy to put in, but you have to rename the drive for it to show up in the This PC window. No problems at all so far.

If I would have known about the performance gain I would have ordered this sooner. Very easy to install also easy to copy the OS and data over to it using an external drive and software. After finishing my 10 year old laptop is young and fast once again.

I moved my system drive to the SSD and booted the first time. It came up so fast I was convinced there was something wrong. But when I started using it - Everything was totally functional.
