> 3 dayI tried so many grinder wheels, wire brush wheels, cup brush wheels, etc. regular grinders would scratch the metal. Brush wheels take forever. Mill scale falls right off with this one.

> 3 dayI used this to remove *heavy* mill scale from all the surfaces of a 10” piece of W8x40 I-beam. It took probably 65% of the disc to do it but it did an outstanding job. 3M states it’s only for light mill scale; mill scale doesn’t come much heavier than what I used it on. And no danger of cutting into the good steel or dishing it.

> 3 dayThe only pads I’ve tried that thoroughly clean metal without marring the surface like flapper disks do. And they don’t seem to clog up as much as other brands. Pricey but worth it.

> 3 dayI did some online research and noticed that a lot of people rated this 3M wheel very highly for removing mill scale from structural steel. They are right. Its like the magic eraser for welders. Much faster than wire brushes. Not as obnoxious as acid methods. Buy one. You wont regret it.

Greater than one weekI took a chance on this disc, but Im glad I did. Eventually, I clogged this up by accidentally grinding into something sticky, but until then it did fantastically at removing paint and mill scale. This model threads onto a threaded arbor. My angle grinder has bushings, so when I reordered these, I went with a 10 pack of the unthreaded ones. Theyre a bit cheaper.
