Greater than one weekPurchased both the green and purple discs to remove paint and rust on a trailer repaint project. The green discs work very well for primarily paint removal not “coarse” enough for rust. The purple discs worked very well at both paint and rust removal. Lighter rust came off very easily, the heavy, deep pitted rust took more effort but removed enough to make other rust removal effective. With some effort too, mill scale on sheet metal came off. The pads last for a pretty long time even while taking off heavy rust. Very impressed with the 3MCubitron abrasives, I plan to try the belts next on my 2” x 48” belt sander.

Greater than one weekWorks great while they last, but they are very expensive given how long they last. Mostly I tested them byt removing paint and/or rust from a small amount of mild steel tubing, plate and bars.
