Works great. Had a slight problem when I accidently deleted it from my computer, or so I thought. After a quick cchat with tech support I was up and running quickly.

Connects to my ps4. All you have to do is format it first on the ps4 and then once its connected anything you download will go straight on the hard drive.

Mine was about 300 gb short of 4tb but that is expected. Size wise it is small and compact but bulkier than my 1tb. For comparison still same dimension as 1tb seagate portables but for bulk about the same as stacking 2 of the 1tb for comparison of this 4tb product. My opinion it is just fast enough for an HDD but it does take a lot more energy than I was expecting as 1 desktop in my house(2013) model will sometimes drop it. Read online that is cause it is powered by usb that it takes a lot for this much memory. It’s not noisy and starts up quick. I recommend formatting it too before putting anything on it. Had a bit of trouble getting it registered and but overall have used it for videos from my gopro and took about 1 hour for transferring 1tb of video from my computer and 1tb seagate. Also I do not take this anywhere and just leave it on my desk so don’t know how it handles when you travel overtime.

This external 4 tb hard drive is great value for the price.

I prefer Seagate HDDs because in my opinion, they are more trustable to another brands.

Received three broken drives. Not sure if the problem is quality control at Seagate or if they get damaged during delivery. All three drives make clicking sounds. With the first drive, I was able to copy a couple of files at 25 MB/s, but eventually got a drive is write protected error message. Formatting failed. With the second drive, copy speed was only 10 MB/s and then I got the same error message, and was unable to format the drive. For the third drive, I tried ordering the Seagate Backup Slim 4 TB model but it just made rythmic clicking sounds and was not detected by Windows at all. I am not ordering any more drives from Amazon. I will try to pick one up from the local office supply store instead. Although five bucks more expensive, it should eliminate the risk of the drive being damaged during delivery.

Works well and has plenty of backup capacity. I have two of them and keep one of them offsite, alternating my backups between the two external hard drives. They are compatible with my M1 MacBook Air computer.
