Very easy to use right out of the box.

After formatting for my ps4 i remained with about 3.6tb out of the 4. Enough Space still to store tons of games. Noticed no depletion in load ups etc. Works great

so i bought this as a used item since i wasnt going to pass up 4TB at $65 and figured since it was going to be a game drive, reliability wasnt really a concern for my use. unfortunately, it started acting up during the first hours of use. it would disconnect randomly and, worst of all, the drive would hang. it would register as being in 100% use, and it would prevent all reading and writing which stopped downloads, or actually froze the game because it could no longer load assets. so i proceeded to break open the casing and then install the drive into my pc with normal sata connection thinking the problems were caused by sata to usb adapter. turns out the drive itself (and not the connector) was causing the hanging issues. however, its been about two months and it seems it only did it for a week or two and now seems to run just fine. but between the disconnects and the drive hanging, i can definitely see why it was a return item

i bought this to save my photos to but it doesnt work very well. it keeps saying it has hours left. when those hours pass it adds on another few hours. i have no idea what to do or what its doing but something is definitely not right

Received three broken drives. Not sure if the problem is quality control at Seagate or if they get damaged during delivery. All three drives make clicking sounds. With the first drive, I was able to copy a couple of files at 25 MB/s, but eventually got a drive is write protected error message. Formatting failed. With the second drive, copy speed was only 10 MB/s and then I got the same error message, and was unable to format the drive. For the third drive, I tried ordering the Seagate Backup Slim 4 TB model but it just made rythmic clicking sounds and was not detected by Windows at all. I am not ordering any more drives from Amazon. I will try to pick one up from the local office supply store instead. Although five bucks more expensive, it should eliminate the risk of the drive being damaged during delivery.

Very easy to use and operate! If your looking for extra storage space id definitely recommend this item!

it takes time to set up on a MAC

I use this external hdd for gaming. Works fine! It gets unplugged occasionally but I’ve still had no issues with data loss or corruption. Feels pretty sturdy.

It connected very easily and has been easy to use but I thought I was getting 4 TB of storage - not quite

So glad I got this bad boy on sale. Its pretty compact for 4TB, data transfer is fast, and it feels solid and safe that any potential falls (why would I drop it? who knows) or heat wont really bother it.
