Installed on a flat surface of the wall as corners were obscured with curtains leading to diminished coverage. Will be relocating to a corner to obtain better coverage. Attaches with screws or “removable” tape.

I have a Simplisafe system set-up in my two story home. I have an entry sensor @ every (easily accessible) window, every entry door, plus one glass break sensor and two of these motion sensors in our open-floorplan first floor. I did have an indoor camera (that I got free) but since it was mostly unresponsive (plus I dont have need to see whats going on in my house at anytime) its not installed. The system seems to work fine and Im mostly happy with it, especially now that SS has added a middle, reduced price, monitoring plan. So with all that said; WHY HAVE MOTION SENSORS? If anyone tries to walk or climb-in they will trigger the entry sensors. If anyone tries to smash glass, the break sensor, combined with the entry sensor, should catch it. The motion detector seems very redundant and too after-its-too-late. I just dont see the point of having them now that Im using the system. And an important plus; they are much more likely to cause false alarms as they inadvertently detect your family, pets, etc. I will probably be taking them down and selling them because, for me, all I want and need is a system that will tell me someone is trying to get in. So my advice on these sensors, and a SS system overall, is to take a lot of time to think things through before buying anything. Consider what you want the system to do, how it will fit your family life, etc, etc, then build a system to fit.

Great motion detector, easy to install, detects well. IF YOU CANNOT POSITION THE DETECTOR IN THE COVERAGE AREA SO IT CANT SEE A CLIMBING PET DO NOT BUY THIS! My house has many windows, I bought the motion detector to cover the windows, there is no position that covers the windows that is not triggered by my climbing cat. The trick of turning the detector up-side-down works, however it is not sufficient.

brought a new motion detector and hope it will work,, but it doesnt, no more try for me, I give up on the alarm system.

I have a Chihuahua and unfortunately it triggers it constantly Also when I was testing it on away mode it didn’t always work
