06-06-2025I bought this to integrate ZigBee devices into my Home Assistant instance. Works perfectly on Debian 10 with HA running in docker. Recommend grabbing a USB extension cable to be able to set the dongle in an optimal spot and as far from your router/any Bluetooth devices as possible.

> 3 dayI immediately used this product with Zigbee2MQTT so all of my opinions are for this setup. I followed the instruction for this adapter on the Zigbee2MQTT website (and may have found a YouTube to give me some more confidence) before proceeding to flash the firmware. The written instructions were a little...rough (I love downloading random .docx files, but YOLO and Linux). If followed, they work and getting the stick to work with Zigbee2MQTT (Home Assistant add-on) was also fairly painless. Make sure you understand the network options in Zigbee2MQTT before setting everything up. Its a good idea to personalize your network key and much easier to do before you start including a bunch of devices. I have about 8 smart plugs and a couple of Philips Hue lamps as a mesh and 12 end devices on my network. So far I mostly use my Zigbee network for motion/temperature/lux sensors (since the Hue ones are amazing), door locks, and a couple of cheapo thermostats that work pretty well. The plugs are mostly for the mesh (I think I have a HomePod plugged into one for some reason) and some lamps in an inflexible room. This stick with Zigbee2MQTT has been a solid combination. Not every device has worked perfectly every time, but every device Ive bought has worked at least as well as it states in the official Zigbee2MQTT device list. Read the device information carefully before you purchase anything, there may be caveats. My toddler can inundate the network with RGB changes through my phone and I rarely see any lag. I plan to keep adding Philips Hue devices to this network since they have been so solid. I prefer not having to rely on their bridge (3rd party controlled dependency) and this setup got me into the Hue devices fairly painlessly using open source software that I can actually decipher.

Greater than one weekThis was plug-and-play with my Home Assistant installation, and allows me to control Zigbee devices with ease. Highly recommended!

> 3 dayI have HA running on a Pi4 and wanted to move away from WIFI devices and into Zigbee. So glad I made the switch - SO MUCH EASIER. Anyway, plugged this guy into the USB port, ran the config in HA (used ZHA, NOT the default pop-up option) and we were away! NOTE: Read a suggestion somewhere that you had to pop it out and then back in again for some devices to work. Actually had to do that so if you have problems connecting your first device do that. (Was let to believe it was more an HA problem with ZHA than a device specific issue) Not a problem since. First devices where Ikea On/Off switches. Worked like a charm and SO much easier to add than WIFI. Initial range was also great. My installation is in the basement and no problem using my first switch on the 1st floor across the house (YMMV). After fretting over several options Im VERY happy with this, can heartily recommend and would buy again if needed. Also, dont forget that every wall-powered and connected Zigbee device will extend your range.

> 3 dayMigrated my Smart Home from the Samsung ST Hub over to Home Assistant for better privacy and control. This USB dongle for Zigbee worked flawlessly with Home Assistant (HA OS, VM Image) and supported all of the Samsung devices (outlets / multi-sensors) and Jasco light switches for a native connection to Home Assistant without requiring a separate hub/cloud integration.
