> 24 hourThese are wonderful. They are much better than my Bose 35’s. Recently upgraded and noticed the Bose hadn’t updated they’re product in a while and bought these. No comparison. Sony XM5 wins!

> 24 hourSo the description says Silver but it’s more a dark/neutral cream color so didn’t love that. I had to download a separate app just to pair this which I thought was annoying because I had to setup a whole other account password etc so it didn’t feel compatible it felt like when you have to buy an AUX cord to connect to your car And quite often my phone would seek out my AirPods over my new headphones so that was inconvenient The sound is great and the noise cancellation is good it’s just not suited for people who have 10 apple products and one non Apple product

> 24 hourFirst I had the XM2,3,4 so I loved this type of Sony headphones but this is probably last one. Right from the start, it feel cheap. They cut back on material to save cost it seemed. They cut back on feature such as NFC. And you cant fold it anymore with this new design. Initially, you cant turn off adaptive sound control which means the headohone will automatically change noise cancelling to ambient sound base on your action. Look, I only wear this indoor so I always just need Noise Cancelling! Their stupid new tech will always get it wrong and when it changes, it took about 2 seconds. Its very annoying! Edit: Okay, they did update the adaptive sound control so we can in fact leave it to just noise cancelling 100% of the time. But it shouldnt need an update just to do this. Now, finally the nail to coffin is this thing sometimes couldnt stop beeping! With their touchpad control, when you tap left or right of the headphone, you are suppose to hearing a tiny beep as feedback so that youd know you tap it 3 times for example. But on mine, when absolutely nothing is touching those touchpad, it kept on beeping sometimes. In worst case scenario, it beeps hundreds of times per minute forcing me to turn it off and turn it back on to solve it temporarily..... Now, please understand, I went through internets trying to resolved this. People have had this problem on Sonys forum and many others discussion site such as StackExchange and reddit. NO, I cant do anything in option to stop it. My touchpad control option was already OFF. It was always off because Ive never need to use it. The Quick Access settings are always NONE because once again, I never need to change it from Noise Cancelling. Please believe me, Ive search through forums, tried every possible options in the app, NONE of them work.... The only conclusion at the end of every discussion is Sony must update it so that it could be an option from the app. But as of June of 2023, there was no option to turn the beeps off! This of course is deal breaker for me which is a shame because I always preferred Sony NC and sound quality and the XM5 sound quality is great when it wasnt interrupted by uncontrollable beeping. I believe Ill try Bose next year.

> 24 hourI’m writing this review after using this headphone for multiple train and plane rides. The noise cancelling is way too good. Besides some high frequency sounds, the headphone was able to cancel out over 95% the noises. The remaining 5% are all higher frequency sounds but those can be ignored very easily. Now I’m not an audiophile so I can’t really comment on how it sounds, but it sounds good enough for me.

> 24 hourI have so many sony products. So, when I needs a good headset, I went for sony. I got this expensitve headset through Amazon with promotioned price. But the headset can not do paring with my iphone. I made serveral phone calls with Sony tech support trying to resolve the issue. I even tried to get a new iphone to test it when I was told I did not have curent version iphone software to pair with this headset. But, none of these suggestions worked, so I ended up going to near-by Best Buy to have them giving me physical check with this new new headset and got resonese was this heasset was factory defective that I should contact with Sony for a repacement since I did not even have a chance to try it out. It took me over 2 weeks to receive a new replaced headset. Then again, this one gets even worse becuase it can not be powered. After talking to Sony tech support, they allowed me to do anyother return for 2nd replacement. After one and half month troubleshooting that I can not even hear a sound or song from this model of Sony headset, I was fed up but either the seller or Amazon could help me out and I was told that I have to deal with Sony from now on because purchase return period was expired. I dont know whatelse I can do at this point. I DON NOT RECOMMEND THIS HEADSET TO ANYONE even this model has so many excellent reviews unless you are very lucky--I had two new product and none of them was working. Plus, return your electronic product to Amazon right away when you find a prolbem with it. Dont try to figure out to fix the probem yourself.

> 24 hourThese Sony XM5 headphones are a great buy & worth the money. They have good noise cancellation and ambient modes and are comfortable for medium periods of listening. However, Apples AirPods Max has superior Noise cancellation, ambient modes and music reproduction in my experience. Apple AirPods Max are heavy and after 45 minutes become uncomfortable on my large head. I have tested both playing Apple Lossless Music through a DAC and Apple still shines but is over $100 more at $479. The Sony has a better battery life, is lighter and is more comfortable for medium periods of use. I have a big head and even the Sony headphones get uncomfortable after a straight hour of use and cause my ears to get hot. I recently got Technics EAH-A800 headphones for a little less than (@$347) the Sony XM5. The EAH-A800 are better at noise cancellation & ambient modes and have great sound reproduction & best of all I can wear them for hours with no discomfort. If I were buying headphones in the $350 to $400 range I would buy the Technics EAH-800 for better value. Yes Sony does a lot of advertising but the Technics are made by Panasonic and they have a great history in reproducing quality sound.

> 24 hourdefault signature disappointed me but drives are handled perfectly by Eq. you can customize your perfect signature. high mid and tremble are very responsive. muddy in lows and decent but not great soundstage. overall true high res experience.

> 24 hourSo I did tests on several different headphones, Sony, Audio Technica, Bose, Apple, etc. Noice cancelation, sound quality, weight, comfort, you name it the mark V comes out on top. Even being more inclined to buy Apple, I still felt there were more pros for the Sonys than the AP Max.

> 24 hourI came from using Airpods pros to these and the difference in noise cancellation is night and day. Especially when music is playing you cannot hear a thing in the background. The transparency mode is decent, but my voice sounds a bit weird when I talk while its on. Otherwise these are super light and very comfortable at the gym as well, highly recommend
