Greater than one weekI’d been debating on whether I would get these headphones or the Apple headphones. Glad I went with the Sony. Fits well around the ears and doesn’t hurt at all even if I wear them for 4 or more hours. Great noise cancellation and love being able to use the touch/tap features.

Greater than one weekI ordered these and they came late. I ordered the SILVER colored ones but the black one was what was shipped. I was mad but then I put them on and loved them. They sound really good

> 3 dayI love the sound quality, its really easy to set them up and the Sony Headphones app offers great audio customization. I got them today so I might update the review if anything changes over the time.

> 3 dayAmazing sound quality and comfort. The app is also great as it allows you to fully customize and control the sound to best fit your sound preference.

> 3 dayBOSEs QC45 noise cancellation is better than SONYs, I can still hear the noise of children, but I cant hear it at all when I wear BOSEs QC45, but the sound quality of the headphones is very good.Ill keep it because I need a wired headset.

> 3 dayI loved the sound of these. They felt comfortable for a few hours before I got a headache (I wear glasses so finding headphones that I can wear longer is pretty impossible.) My only complaint which is why I returned them is I have colored hair and the cups absorbed all my hair color and stained. I always get black everything and the one time I got a different color for headphones my hair stains them...not worth $300+ if that happens.

> 3 dayI fly often. I use noise cancelling headphones to make my plane time more peaceful and enjoyable. I owned the M4s for a while and loved them, so when Sony brought the M5 to market, I couldnt wait. I was hesitant to pay this kind of money, of course, but I read several professional reviews that raved about them. I will say right up front, I just couldnt hear any difference in the noise cancelling from my M4s. I gave my M4s to my partnerer who travels with me most of the time, so I am able to switch with her for comparison. I just cant hear a difference. But, Im that guy who always wants the latest and the best in tech, so I thought I would be happy. Heres the thing. My new M5s are constantly shifting the noise canceling. Im sitting on the plane listening to relaxing music and it is like they shift from canceling to ambient noise. It lasts for 5-10 seconds, then they shift back. It happend every 5 minutes or so. I have tried turning off adaptive sound control, but it doesnt make a difference. Unfortunately, I went a while without traveling right after I purchased these and so didnt really start experiencing this until a while after purchasing. It is probably to late to return, but I will try. My advice would be to save the money and buy the M4s. They are certainly cheaper and in my experience, much better.

> 3 dayYou can not go wrong with either one of these. I really wanted these to be better than the AirPods Max, but theyre not. I own both AirPods Max and the older Sony 1000XM3s and both of these headsets have their strengths. I was hoping that with all the hype the 1000XM5s would be substantially better than the AirPods Max. The biggest complaint is that when touching the ear cup on the Sonys you can easily hear it, the same action on the AirPod Max is minimal. Both headsets have excellent audio, with the Max edging out the XM5s. Controls -XM5 wins Comfort - I prefer the Max but it is more an individual choice. Case - XM5 Ease of use - Max Noise Cancelling - Tie
