> 3 dayRise of the Empire is a fantastic expansion for the star wars in a box Star Wars: Rebellion! It adds LOTS of new ships and other miniatures! It adds MORE heroes and villains (mostly taken from Rogue One), including Jabba The Hutt!! It adds MORE mission cards that give both sides more cool powers and abilities! It adds a few new rules that enhance the game without bogging things down. I was not a big fan of Rogue One, but the characters and R1 themed cards just add more to the deep theme and fantastic immersion in the Star Wars universe that Rebellion offers. In fact, I think Star Wars Rebellion offers the Rebel player a chance to retell the R1 story in a MUCH better way (in board game form) then the movie did! Thats the power of this game! And, most importantly, Rise Of The Empire streamlines (but does not completely fix) the clunky combat system; the games only flaw. But the rules changes are a HUGE step in the right direction. This is a MUST HAVE....its as simple as that!

Greater than one weekI have mixed opinion on this expansion: Pro: - new pieces and green dice concept is solid. Love it! - new mission cards are mostly an improvement and fix some errors from the base game. - new leaders are cool too Cons: - new combat system prevents rebels from winning the game against a competent imperial player. Do a play through, they will not win. - new objective cards and start of game setup prevent the Rebel player from gaining reputation meaningfully. - new rebel starting units too weak - Death Star setup for the empire guarantees the Rebels will not get their much needed Mon Cals on first turn 60% of the time. (looking at you Degobah). Recommended house rules: - old Combat system with small tactic cards. - Rebels pick all of their objective cards after picking base, then imperial player shuffles. - Rebels get original starting units, plus 1 U-Wing, and replace the one trooper with Vanguard. - Degobah is not valid death star starting location. I recommend getting the expansion, but only for the mission cards, the new leaders, and especially for the new pieces. The new tactic cards and some of the rebel objective cards can be set aside and forgotten about.

> 3 dayMust buy if you like Rebellion. The battle system has been reworked and is much better. The new characters and missions bring a new dimension to an already fantastic game. Love the expansion. Doubt I will ever play the base game alone again.
