> 3 dayThis patter book is easy to follow. The down side was the measurements when cutting. Mostly 1/8 instead of the usual 1/4 in quilting. This will be a beautiful quilt. I dont recommend this for beginners.

24-11-2024I am working on this quilt at the moment. It IS a large undertaking; however, I disagree with the review posted above. Carrie Nelson authors excellent cutting direction and designs with the clearest instructions possible for accurate finishes. YES, there are a zillion pieces in this quilt and the blocks are smaller-sized; however, take a good look at the front cover. The design is beautiful! Honestly, many classic quilt patterns are not fast, and you cannot rush the process...but are gorgeous finishes. I have several friends working along on this project and they love the process and monthly breakdown of construction. Carries cutting instructions are clear, concise, and you cut three blocks at once from two fabrics (if desired)...something appreciated for those with limited sewing time. (Yes, this is a sampler quilt; though, unlike Dear Jane. Those blocks are hand/paper/foundation pieced at 4-inches with pieced triangle edge blocks--vastly different.) With this book, Carrie simply asks you to slow down, enjoy the quilting process, and in turn, youll finish (whether in a month or in five years) a stunning quilt. At that time, the time investment wont be a consideration anymore and you wont mind having used those dusty 1/8, 3/8, or 7/8-inch ruler marks after all.

> 3 dayThis book for quilters has instructions for multiple size quilt blocks. It is well written. The reason for a 4 rating is because the cover was not clean. I was able to wash it off but was disappointed that a new book would need to be cleaned.

Greater than one weekPatterns are organized alphabetically, and easy to read and follow. There are even pressing directions. I love it. The photo is the Churn Dash block I made in three sizes.

Greater than one weekThe photos of the quilts are pretty. However, the blocks in this book are weird sizes to cut and piece . The authors premise of floating the blocks with sash strips to compensate for construction irregularities is not new. Think DEAR JANE quilt. So, if you enjoy making small blocks with lots of pieces using the 1/8 , 3/8, 7/8 marks on your rulers, you will enjoy making this quilt. The blocks are 5 inch, 6 1/2 inch and 8 inch. Good luck going down that rabbit hole, particularly if you are a beginning quilter.

> 3 dayI am currently working on this as a challenge quilt with a group of women from our Fresno CA retreat. The instructions are easy and photos have been included. Lots of points and SCANT seams are the ticket. It will be a wonderful quilt.
