> 3 dayPairing the smart plugs was childs play. I have tried several brands, and was fed up with error messages telling me to check my internet connection. I have a fiber optic line with Gig service and a mesh network. My internet is just fine, thank you. These plugs pair within seconds, always on the first try. I also love their Smart lightbulbs. Sylvania is rocking smart devices.

> 3 dayThese worked fine for about 6 months... specifically up until exactly 7 days after the product support window closed, then all 4 quit working the same day. Its obviously a Sylvania server problem, but never had that problem with my other off brand... and thats the last time I consider a brand name over something else.

> 3 dayYou can see form my pictures that these plugs form Sylvania are very very similar to the latest TP Link Minis. Sylvanias plugs come in just a tiny bit wider but slightly less height. Both are rated for 15 Amps and the TP Link Minis seem to be priced about $3 less without sales than the current price on this product. Dont get me wrong, these function well and might be a fine choice by many. I however already have a home with more TP Link (Kasa) products than Sylvania with their App used to setup and control devices. Thanksfully Googles Home app brings everything together under 1 easy to control screen once setup. One other item to note is that these plugs seem to have a slightly louder audible tick sound when toggled on/off than the TP Link plugs. And if you push the button on your plugs to turn them on/off occasionally, I think these have a less preferable tactile feel to the push and clicking than the smooth and more silent press of the buttons on the TP Link plugs. Perhaps 1 edge these have on TP Link may depend on your preference on LED status lights. The TP Link plugs have an illuminated power logo on their plug side which is built into the push button. These plugs from Sylvania on the other hand, they dont have a light in the power button but there is a tiny LED on the face of the plug surface just near the edge which will illuminate a blue color when the plug is toggled on. So that might not matter based on where you place this but if this were at eye-level and out in the open, this would probably annoy me personally but when its not in line of sight, it would probably give off less glow in a pitch dark room than the light green glow of TP Links plugs. Overall much of this might be a moot point other than the physical size being preferable to most. Once you set these up, chances are youre using voice commands from Alexa or Google to control these or an app like Google Home because you have other devices by other companies. Its a good product but because it was just a tad more expensive than a competitor (which I think has a slight edge on design and function), I took off 1 star. If you already are in the Sylvania ecosphere of smarthome products or have an existing preference for their products, you cant go wrong with this choice.

> 3 daySYLVANIA Smart devices are the easiest and quickest to setup and they are the inexpensive way to smarten up any dumb devices. These SYLVANIA Smart WiFi Plugs are no different. It took around 30 seconds to add and configure each plug. Just have your smartphone connected to the 2.4GHz WiFi band, open the SYLVANIA Smart WiFi App and connect the plug to the wall outlet. The app even finds the WiFi plug, before I even have a chance to hit the + sign to select add a device. In case you have a Mesh Wifi, that might not allow you to manually select the 2.4GHz WiFi band, you could try going to the father place away from your WiFi router or satellite, where it might switch to 2.4GHz. I had to use an extension cord in the backyard to setup the plug, then I place it into the outlet I wanted the plug to be. There is an AP mode option, in case you are having troubles connecting. To enter AP mode, press the power button until it blinks rapidly, release it, then press the power button again until it blinks slowly. The blue LED is off when the plug is off, it is solid blue when the power is on, it blinks rapid blue when paring to Wi-Fi, and blinks slowly blue when setting on AP mode. The SYLVANIA Smart WiFi Plugs have a small profile and you can place two plugs on a wall outlet side by side. They have a three-prong outlet and a small blue LED indicator on the facia, and a three-prong plug on the back. They works really well with the SYLVANIA Smart WiFi App, as well as with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. The mobile SYLVANIA Smart WiFi App opens to the home screen where each installed device is listed. To the right of each device there is an on/off round button, when tap it powers on or turns off devices. There is a plus (+) on top to add new devices. That opens to a screen to select the type of devices been added. There are Group, Automation and Settings icons to access various functions. In the SYLVANIA Smart WiFi App, you can create rules and groups to control several devices at once. The manual instructions are very limited. The plug has Bluetooth, so there should be an option to add the plug via Bluetooth in case a devices cannot switch to a 2.4GHz network. I would have liked power usage reporting, even if the plugs cost was a bit higher.

> 3 dayThis product is horrible. Supposedly its compatible with Alexa but only if your Internet is running at 2.4G. You also need to download the Sylvania app try to install and if youre lucky then go to the Alexa app. I would return this product if I could but that window has closed. $30 lesson on what not to buy. IDONOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT!!

> 3 dayThese are handy little things. We liked the first set so much we bought another. They’re pretty easy to setup, but not without some glitches (like timeouts or failures to connect). But after 1 or 2 tries they took. Once setup they are nice and reliable, and only need a fair 2.4ghz signal. The Sylvania app is what really ties things together. Without a good app, these would be much less useful. The app is great. No fuss. No gimmicks. No subscriptions. I setup various scenes and set some of them to daily timers. Very helpful. App can be used away from home to operate lighting as well.

> 3 dayBest part of these over many other smart plugs is the size! You can actually plug two into a standard outlet. Most of the others I have cover the second outlet which is just annoying. These are much more compact! They work just fine with Alexa. Follow set up instructions. I did find the initial wifi connection a bit tedious though. Not all of these were immediately recognized and I had to keep trying on a couple of them before theyd show up. Overall great voice integration and ability to integrate alarms and timers. But yeah mostly Id recommend these specifically for the size over other options.
