I needed new spray guys for spraying automotive primer, paint and clear coats. Took a chance on these guns and what I’ve found is: The paint gun, regardless of a 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, 1.8, or 2.0 in my case MUST be completely torn down, stripped and cleaned before even thinking of using. There is some sort of thread sealant on the portion of the brass part of the nozzle of the gun, and it’s truly a pain to clean this out. I have found remnants of metal from when the tips were machined on at least 3 of the 5 spray guns I purchased. After dialing in the guns, I found the 1.3 is fantastic for spraying clear coat. The 1.4 and 1.5 guns are great for base coat materials. My 2.0 gun got blocked up from trying to spray a 0.015 metalflake, however I had too much flake in my intercoat which settled and clogged the gun up. Overall, these guns do their job decently well and for a guy wanting to spray stuff, they will do the job. Only gripe I had was the 1.4 was out of stock, so I bought a second 1.3 gun and a 1.4 tip kit, and just swapped out. Color coding on some of the gun parts makes it nice to ID a clear, base coat or primer gun to keep things separate especially when doing multiple colors on custom work. Decent spray guns for the money. Make sure to clean before use!

I bought this to try while doing a kitchen renovation job. I have various sprayers from Graco, but the paint is applied to thick for cabinet work soni use them for just house exteriors. I tried this for fun and it really impressed me. I will be buying another one. It sprayed Ben Moore Advance latex in satin right from the gallon and when it dried I then used the same gun to spray Lenmar 50/50 mix matte and satin top coat and the results are incredible. I never tried this with another 1.3 gun, but this gun handled it well and cleaned up easily after each use. On top of that, I originally thought I would have to use about two gallons of paint for the job, but only needed one gallon. There was a slot of mist, but I had fans to exhaust my shop. I got great even coverage with very little waste. I highly recommend it.

1st, look at the price. Tip is too large to do a GREAT job, but if you have a beater that you want to patch up yourself, this is the ticket. Even though the tip is too small for many folks preference for a primer gun, i like it well for this. I found it hard to drop the right amount of base without getting it too thick, but, practice would overcome a lot of that. The clear was just to orange peeled, and i resprayed, but still couldnt match FACTORY peel. However, i have seen cars from factory with as much orange peel, so if you were to do a WHOLE car or project, and budget is a concern, i believe this would work well, but i see it as a throw-away because of parts available, and there are no other size tips for it that i could see. IF more tips ARE available, i would give it one more star. I have a warwick and it more closely matches my cars factory peel, and it has more tip size available making it more versatile, but it cost 9 times as much too.

Ok, first of all I am NOT a professional painter. I am a hobbyist in the process of rebuilding my Jeep CJ7. I needed a decent spray gun to prime the Jeep in preparation for the pros at the paint shop (trying to save a little cash by doing the prep work). I did some research and found that I needed a spray gun with a 1.8 tip (for the thicker primer). This gun caught my eye as it came with a metal (as opposed to plastic) cup and a regulator for a great price. The gun arrived as advertised and was well packaged, with easy to understand instructions. Overall, after using it to prime the Jeep, I was very impressed with the quality of the finish. It has the standard adjustable spray with knob, air volume knob and paint flow knob. The weight is well balanced and felt comfortable during the painting. The finish was even and consistent (remember that this was a prime coat). Again, I am not a pro painter, but this little beauty is a well built, quality gun for a great price (I paid $39.95 + shipping). Very satisfied!

I got this gun to spray latex paint on cabinets and it worked great. I also own a Wagner 9146 airless sprayer which works great for BIG jobs, but when you are working on something smaller like cabinets you have tons of wasted product. This gun is not meant for painting large spaces such as a room or a whole house, but it does a great job on smaller things like doors, cabinets, molding, and furniture. It laid down a nice smooth finish on my cabinets and it was very easy to use and clean. It has a great feel and is easy to adjust. I also own a Graco-Sharpe 289222 Mini-HVLP FX1000 and a Graco-Sharpe 288878 HVLP FX3000 1.4 mm HVLP Gravity Feed Spray Guns both purchased from Amazon. These guns are awesome for spraying fine finishes like poly urethane, lacquer, shellac, and metal finishes, but not latex. I do a lot for wood and metal finishing as my hobbies and I am a happy to add this guy to my finishing arsenal.
