THE NORTH FACE Borealis Commuter Laptop Backpack, TNF Black/TNF Black, One Size

> 24 hourThe strap started ripping on this backpack after 3-4 months. I contacted Northface but they wanted me to pay $30 so ship it to them without even telling me for sure if they would or could repair it. If they decided not to, I would be out $30 for shipping. It seems like such an expensive product should have a warranty and that they would stand behind their product.

> 24 hourIt was either this, or the Northface Recon. The Recon is a great backpack. I had one for years before I got my Borealis. However, the place where you would place the laptop at the back of the Recon allows your laptop to touch the hard ground when you set the backpack on the ground. Additionally, I found that the Recon had more of a tendency to fall over. Again, the Recon is good, but probably better for hiking than as a commuter backpack. The Borealis suspends the laptop by making the bottom not touch the bottom of the backpack... kind of like a little hammock. The straps are very adjustable, and the part where they attach on top is floppy (in a good way), which makes it a little easier to put the backpack on and also take it off. Overall, very, very good option if you plan to put your laptop in it. One think I dont like is how the very front small pocket doesnt have its zipper at the top of the compartment, rather its in the middle. So if youre trying to access it from an upright position, stuff at the top of the small compartment may fall out. I recommend this laptop.

> 24 hourI used a North Face Angstrom 28 backpack almost daily, very hard, for over a decade. It stood up to everything! Finally a small hole grew into large one (my fault, as it probably would have been fine if I had mended it early), so I reluctantly retired it. I looked for an exact replacement, but hat model was unfortunately discontinued. The Borealis was the closest equivalent available today. Ive been using it for about a month now, still almost daily and very hard, and so far the Borealis has been perfect. I expect it will serve me just as well as my previous North Face until at least 2030! Go ahead and buy this backpack now. It is a wise purchase.
