Thule RoundTrip Bike Duffel

Greater than one weekI am a huge fan of Thule products and this large duffle bag definitely delivers. I’m not using it for biking but for travel and it has worked so well. The standout feature for me is the accordion pockets on the inside that I can use to roll up clothing instead of using packing cubes. However when you unsnap the pockets and try to flatten it out, it sticks out about 3 inches taking up space inside of the bag. The slots are fairly big, the vary in size and I can place 1 to 3 items of clothing inside of each depending on the hole and article of clothing. The size does overwhelm me a little bit, I’m 5’4” and it takes up my entire backside but the included cross strap made it a little easier to carry through the airport and around in general but it was still heavy. Even carrying it as a normal duffle bag was a tad uncomfortable since its also wide and long. I love the duffle bag but it just isn’t built for someone shorter or petite in size.

> 3 dayI waited years for this thing to come out and it is everything I wanted! I am finally organized with my cycling gear! Only change Id make is for the shoe panel to have some mesh so it can breathe while still being zipped up. Thule: go see Osprey in this department cause they rock it with their mesh!

02-06-2025Very attractive. High quality materials and crafstmanship. I both like and dislike the dedicated pockets throughout the bag. Pro: they provide specific spots for all of the major items. Con: makes it impossible to carry more than one of any of them. e.g. an extra pair of shoes. Also a negative is the single carry handle on the lid vs. having two classic duffel bag straps. The single handle makes it impossible to pick the back up with one hand while the top lid is unzipped. Wouldnt think much of this but it comes into play almost every time I touch the bag. Which leads me to the next issue, the zippers are configured in such an unnatural path. They require two hands to open and close, and its very hard to figure out their path as they snake around the opening hidden from view. Finally, the tool pouch area. The elastic straps are almost useless. Very hard to figure out which tool should fit in which strap. None of them make sense and provide support for any of the tools I carry on a daily basis. There is a lot to like about the bag but at the end of the day I realized I was better off with my less flashy duffel bag. Big end compartments, two side pockets and a cavernous zippered compartment in the middle.

> 3 dayI bought this bag as a gift for someone and after watching them use and abuse it for a year, I got one for myself. The bag is well designed and has compartments and pockets for all the tools and accessories that are needed to shred comfortably and roll fast. It holds everything needed for 2-3 days of either road or mt biking at a time. We also use these bags as a carry-on luggage when traveling to locations we bike at and they travel well. The only thing that could be tweaked to improve it is if the interior organizer could be completely removeable. Right now it can be folded off to one side but its still slightly bulky when not in use.

Greater than one weekI misread the description for this, which makes my husband very happy. I thought it would mount to the rear carriers on our bikes. However, its really an extremely nice piece of luggage for bicycle trips. My husband thinks it would also adapt well for shopping trips, of which we are making none at this time, due to being confined to home due to the pandemic. This helps feed our dreams of the days to come when well be able to go camping again. It is, as you would expect with Thule products, extremely well made, as far as weve been able to determine. Its also extremely well thought out, with a place for everything. If you take bicycling trips, this would be a great piece of kit, which would make that much easier. Thank you very much for reading my review. If it was helpful, please click the button below.

Greater than one weekFinally I can easily see at a glance what’s in my bike bag. The dividers are well sized allowing ample space for a variety a bike gear.

> 3 dayThis bag is terrific--lightweight but sturdy. Took it on recent bike trip. Fit helmet, shoes, toiletries, clothes etc. As a matter of fact, 2 of us packed in this one bag! Will use it all the time, not just for bike trips. Interior organizer makes it so easy to find things as opposed to rumaging around in an ordinary duffle. Love it!
