Learned the hard way of a RAM parameter I had not previously been familiar with: CAS latency (which was not even mentioned in Apples own upgrade instructions). The OEM RAM Apple used was CL11. If you add RAM with a *faster* (i.e., better) CL rating (e.g., CL10), the memory controller will actually reduce the clock rate for memory access from 1600 MHz to 1333 MHz! Not that its a huge effect for many typical uses, but still.
