I have had poodles most of my life (allergies) and do my own grooming. I bought these to trim the hair between their pads on their feet and around their eyes. The scissors are very thick and do not easily get into small areas. The hair just slips out of the blades and does not cut. The write up on the scissors said they were designed to hold the hair when you made a cut. Nope, does not work on poodles. UPDATE July 2, 2013: Mr. Matthew Michel of Scaredy Cut did send me a complimentary second pair to try and see if they worked better. I am sorry to say they did not. So Mr. Michel has refunded my money. His customer service has been exemplary! What he does not know is that I am getting ready to send him some of my poodles hair (I groomed her a few days ago) for him to try and maybe he can replicate the problem. Perhaps the scissors need adjusting or I am not using them correctly. I have tried cutting with the micro-jagged edge up and then down (turned the scissors over). I also tried them on my Australian Cattle Dog and his hair slipped out of the scissors, too. (Poodles have different texture hair than most dogs.) I really would like to get these to work because they seem to be well made - they just arent working for me. Others have had great success with them. UPDATE January 13, 2015: Mr. Michel of Scaredy Cut has continued to solve the poodle hair problem with several more pairs of scissors adjusted differently. They most recent scissors kinda worked, but the poodle hair still just slides out of the scissors. Again, poodles (and other dogs such as Portuguese Water Dogs, Labradoodle, etc.) do not have fur - they have soft hair and they do not shed very much (thus, the need for grooming!). Again, the product works well for others - just not for my poodle. The customer service of Scaredy Cut is exemplary and I am not dissatisfied with the service, nor the product; it is just that the scissors dont work for my dog.

I bought these to trim the hair on my shih tzu puppys face and feet. I really like the size and the rounded tips but Ive found that its hard to cut hair with them. Im hoping they are better when her adult coat grows in but for the puppy fur, they bend the hair more than they cut. Ive thought about returning them since others dont seem to have this trouble. I wonder if I received a defective pair but it just doesnt seem to be worth the trouble to return them. Update on 7/19/2015: The seller saw the above review and without me even asking, they sent me a replacement pair. After trying out the replacement pair, I realized that the first pair was indeed defective. The second pair work really, really well! Im so glad the seller found my review and sent me a replacement. Ive never had such a caring seller interact with me before. Many thanks to them! As for the scissors, I can now give them a five star review. If you receive a pair and dont think they cut well, definitely contact the seller to try a second pair.

This scissors works smoothly and safely to cut excess hair of our little hairy hamster and comes in the perfect size, not too small or not too big, to be maneuvered by my preteen and myself. We are very happy with this purchase:-)

In spite of flea preventative, my 70 lb very furry dog was being bitten by fleas, creating severe hot spots. For the first one, I took him to the vet and it took 6 people about 30 minutes to shave the one small area. He was so freaked out by this experience that I had a difficult time getting him to trust me enough to put the medication the vet prescribed on it. I figured there had to be a better way to trim off the fur around hot spots, and there was, Scaredy Cut Tiny Trim Scissors!!! I have been using a small hair side comb against his skin with the fur pulled through and have successfully trimmed about half of his belly. I have discovered 3 hidden hot spots and am able to closely monitor his belly for new flea bites before they turn into hot spots. I cant say enough about the seller. He sent me an email wanting to know how they were working out and if I had any questions. When I told him what I was using them for, he made the helpful suggestion of trimming the fur to about one inch to get rid of the bulk of the fur, after which I would be able to trim closer to the skin without using the comb because I wouldnt be cutting blindly. The scissors easily cut my dogs thick fur and because of their small size, I can easily trim the nooks and crannies in his groin area. I looked at all the other blunt scissors on Amazon and these had the best reviews. After using them, I can understand why. I told my vet about them and she is considering ordering a pair.

I love these scissors. My dogs grow fur in between their toes (papillons). This makes them slip and slide on smooth surfaces. These scissors make it easy to trim the fur on the bottom of their feet. I dont have to worry so much about poking them or even accidentally nicking them. I tried an electric little trimmer and it works but they are scared of it and this is so much more efficient and less work. Only bad news is I misplaced these scissors. I will buy another pair if the old ones dont show up. Edited to add: Turns out my mom stole my pair to cut her own hair because it works better than our human hair cutting scissors. She won’t give it back because it works so well. So I guess I recommend this for anyone looking for a sharp pair of scissors, not just dog owners. I will be buying another pair for my dogs. Also I’m very glad they come in different colors so we can differentiate between the human and dog pair. Especially since I might use the dog pair to do a sanitary trim.

Review update: In my first review of this item I had ordered the small grooming scissors and did not have a good experience using them. See original review. To my pleasant surprise I received a new pair from the seller without even asking! Plus, an additional large pair to try out enclosed with a nice letter. The new pair did work better than the first. The customer service experience has been above and beyond. I am increasing the rating from 3 to 4 stars but I’d give the seller 5 stars. The reason for 4 is there are higher quality scissors for grooming these are an excellent value for the price. If you are an occasional at home groomer these will do the job. If you groom professionally you might look at other professional level tools. Works for me! Original review: OK scissors. Not very sharp and the small handle is not easy to maneuver. They seem cheaply made. I’d have paid more for a higher quality. I use them to trim around the rear area of my toy breed. The size is nice for precision. You will need larger scissors for any substantial cutting of fur in straight lines.

This is exactly what I needed to trim my Cavalier King Charles puppys under-paw hair. She was a little apprehensive at first and squirmed but eventually she got comfortable and actually fell asleep while I was trimming the hair. The rounded tip makes me really feel safe like I wont hurt her even if she squirms or moves a bit. At the same time the blades are sharp enough that they cut through her fine fur the first time and I dont need to go back again on the same spots, making the process quick for me and for her. I will be using these scissors for trims probably the rest of her life and love them so much!

Through a series of events, Kitty has manufactured some truly impressive (and quite painful for him) mats in his fur. These scissors are ideal for helping him through this. The rounded nose is a good safety measure, but most importantly they close evenly and completely with no play in the blades that can cause painful pulling and twisting of the fur as you go. Were doing a section each day (depending on Kittys patience level) and it would be much harder without such a good tool for the delicate work.

This is the perfect sized scissors for trimming hard to reach areas (around the eyes, bridge of the nose, ears, feet, etc.). And, they open and shut smoothly when in use. This is my second pair. I keep one in the car and one inside the house. I highly recommend them!
