> 3 dayAfter 20+ years of using my old faithful travel bag that has seen better days I finally broke down and purchased this bag as a replacement. Now I wish I did this years ago (sorry old faithful!) This bag is very spacious and has multiple pockets to help organize your stuff. Dont know if this one will last 20 years, but Im sure to get my moneys worth out of it. I think if its full expanded and loaded it might be too big to qualify as a carry on, but simply dont stuff it to the max and all will be fine - I had no problem using this as a carry-on.

> 3 dayThis is a preliminary review based on having just received my bag and not having used it yet. I will update after some use. I needed four bags for hauling an assortment of items to and from trade shows. I selected these based on the description and reviews. My preference was for black bags but the difference between the “Toupons Travel Duffel Bag for Men & Women 47L Overnight Weekend Bag (Black-New)” and the “Toupons Canvas Travel Tote Luggage Mens Weekender Duffle Bag, Black” was not clear, so I ordered one of each for evaluation, intending to return one and order three more of the better (for my purposes) bag. The two bags were identical in style. Both were solid black in color but different fabrics. The “black” bag was made of what appears to be cotton canvas and the “black-new” bag was made of what appears to be a heavy nylon material. According to the seller the “black-new” bag is “water-resister material.” I did not want to have to research and purchase bags again in a couple of months, so after reading the negative reviews I inspected my bags very carefully upon receipt. Both bags appeared well made. Both were fully lined. All seams were bound and there were no raw fabric edges. All zippers on both bags were size 10 coil zippers. I was impressed by the number of zippered pockets. In addition to the expandable large center compartment there were two decent sized pockets – one on each end, two pockets on the front, one pocket on the back, and one inside the main compartment on the back – all zippered. There were also two open pockets inside the main compartment on the front. I preferred the appearance of the canvas fabric over the nylon, but decided that the nylon was more practical for my purposes. I ended up returning the “black” bag and ordering three additional “black-new” bags.

> 3 dayI needed a new bag for a trip to Iceland, England, Scotland, and Ireland this Summer as my backpack wasnt going to cut it for 3 weeks of clothing and travel items, including jackets and scarves. This bag was perfect for the job. Through 7 different airports, 5 different countries, and multiple days of long travel I had absolutely no problems. I loved the pockets on the sides that allowed for expansion and fit my size 13 shoes. The small front pocket was the perfect size for my passport, boarding passes, and other travel info. The bag itself fit like a glove for each airlines carry-on limit even when packed completely full, and was easy and comfortable to carry/travel with. The canvas material feels very durable and I was never worried about damaging the contents. I highly recommend this bag as a carry-on for long trips .

> 3 dayGreat bag, but I dont like rating a duffel bag on sturdiness with a 5 star system. In the event of a zombie apocalypse would your first thought be to jam a door with a duffel bag or would you pick almost anything else? A duffel bag is not sturdy by definition unless they mean durability, in which case - why have durability as another category? Merriam-Webster definition: a soft oblong bag for personal belongings Even the sturdiest duffel bag can only aspire to be sturdy. It looks upon other types of bags with wonder, hope and sometimes jealousy at their superior sturdiness. You get 4 stars for sturdiness - *at best* - duffel bag. I give you 3. Why? Because there must be a sturdier duffel bag out there. It is a 5 star bag and might even be my favorite bag of all time. It has 5 star durability and is a 5 star bag for traveling but it is a 3 star bag in sturdiness because it is made of cloth and collapses. You should buy the bag if you like the looks of it because the quality of the zippers and the bag itself are amazing. I beat the hell out of it and it looks the same as when I bought it. Just dont buy it to stand on to reach anything high up.

Greater than one weekIf you would like the convenience and flexibility of a duffle-style travel bag, but you want something more durable and not as cheap looking as the ballistic nylon ones, this could be your solution. I particularly like the extra pockets. Where bags like this normally just have one pocket on each end and one on the side, this one a total of five pockets on the outside - each end, two on one side, one on the other. Plus there are a couple of open pockets on the inside, and one zippered on the inside. The expandable area on the sides helps the flexibility. Zipped up, this will fit in the overhead of just about any airline. Expanded, its still okay for larger overhead compartments. With all that, its still not too heavy. This is now my go to bag for short trips of a day or two. I also use it as a supplementary bag on longer trips, letting it ride on a piece of wheeled luggage. The zippers seem better quality than the usual canvas bags. The handles are sturdy too.

Greater than one weekThis bag for starters was just what I needed for my 7 day trip abroad. This is what I was able to pack in this bag: (Note, Im a male) 7 t shirts 1 button up 2 pants 2 shorts 7 pairs of socks 7 boxers Toiletries : ( 3oz of a shampoo bottle, deodorant, nail clippers, toothbrush) An extra pair of shoe and sandals/slides (Im 11.5 US Foot size) 4 plugs: 2 EU adapters and 2 battery outlets for my camera. All this was packed with EASY effort! All this and I didnt have to unzip to expand my bag. My flight specifically said no more than 22lbs on the plane as carry on, but I packed about 18 to 23 pounds all in all. Fits perfectly in the overhead cabin as well. Definite recommend for a short or long week.
