These are wonderful blocks, though now our set is a bit out of date since IUPAC approved actual names for four new elements. I doubt my 13-month-old will notice :)

Pretty decent blocks for the young mad scientist. Our resident mad scientist was disappointed that the uranium block did not evidence radioactive decay although the radium block was hot, or that the sodium or phosphorus block when thrown into the tub only floated.

I was so disappointed when I realized that these were actually pretty lacking in educational value. Aside from just providing some exposure to the element names, the complete randomness of the color groupings is actually pretty confusing to anyone who knows anything about the periodic table. They could have easily given elements in the same family matching colors. Worse, due to the way the symbols are arranged on each block, it is not possible to line up even the first several blocks in order by atomic number at the same time. Even if you are only trying to teach your kid to COUNT, you will have to re-use a block well before you get to number 10. Was so excited about these, and then so, so disappointed.

Excellent quality! Printing is very well done, perfectly centered and very clear.
